"Major League Soccer joins the Philadelphia Union and our entire soccer community in mourning the tragic passing of Union goalkeeper Holden Trent," according to a Major League Soccer statement on Sunday. “The Philadelphia Union is devastated by the heartbreaking passing of Holden Trent,” the Union said in a statement. Ballot drop boxes in Portland, Oregon, and neighboring Vancouver, Washington, were set on fire early Monday morning, police said, just over a week out from Election Day. The Portland Police Bureau said an "incendiary device" was placed inside of a sidewalk ballot box in the Central City district. At around 4 a.m. local time, about a half-hour after the reported fire in Portland, police in Vancouver also responded to a ballot box fire. Earlier this month, the Vancouver bomb squad responded to reports of a "suspicious device" near a downtown ballot box, police said. The device was "safely removed" and the ballot box itself was "not compromised," according to a news release.

CNN —The Chicago Bears kicked off Week 6’s Sunday action by moving to 4-2 as they defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 35-16 in London, England.
