The overall strategy and schedule are still being finalized for the Obamas, the people familiar with their plans said, and they will take their direction from the Harris campaign about what’s needed on the campaign trail. During Michelle Obama’s speech at the DNC in Chicago, she implored Democrats to not just support Harris this November but “do something” to help her win. The Obamas and Clintons would have had some role in the home stretch of the Biden campaign had it continued. One person close to the planning said now they can help with different constituencies Harris needs to win over in November. First lady Jill Biden has also pledged to campaign for Harris in the fall, with a possible focus on education.

Niccol has a "great track record" and is an "outstanding" hire for Starbucks, Edward Jones restaurant analyst Brian Yarbrough told Business Insider. Alongside Curt Garner, the chain's chief information officer who joined in 2015, Niccol helped spearhead Chipotle's digital turnaround. In Niccol's first full year at Chipotle, in 2019, digital sales were up 90%. "Whether you're a light, medium, or heavy user, when you're in the rewards program, you come more frequently and you spend more," Niccol told investors in February.

U.S. high school graduates looking for entry-level work might consider starting out at a company appearing on a new ranking from the American Opportunity Index. Released earlier this month, the list named 50 large companies as the best places for people with a high school diploma to launch their careers. The index scored companies based on three metrics: how likely they are to hire entry-level employees, promote them from within and set them up to land better-paying jobs when they leave. "We didn't see a whole lot out there for the 40% of high school graduates who aren't going off to post-secondary education immediately — most of whom have to find some sort of work," he continues. Rather than survey the companies, the index analyzed the career paths of around 5 million workers from 2018 until 2022 to make its assessment.

Starbucks announced Tuesday it's replacing CEO Laxman Narasimhan with Chipotle CEO Brian Niccol as the coffee chain tries to reverse a sales slump. Before joining Starbucks, Narasimhan was chief executive of Reckitt, which owns brands like Lysol and Mucinex. Narasimhan's surprise ouster also suggests that Starbucks' board isn't interested in a deal with activist investors. When news of Elliott's stake in Starbucks first broke in July, the hedge fund offered Starbucks' board a settlement that would protect Narasimhan's job, CNBC previously reported. Starbucks' board did not initially respond or engage with Elliott for some time, driven in part by the lingering influence of Schultz.

CNN —Former President Donald Trump’s campaign said Saturday in a statement that it had been hacked. When asked whether the Trump campaign had been in contact with law enforcement, a campaign official said it would not discuss those kinds of conversations. Politico reported it had received emails that contained internal communications from a senior Trump campaign official and a research dossier the campaign had put together on Trump’s running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance. The dossier included what the Trump campaign identified as Vance’s potential vulnerabilities. Employees who brewed and served Starbucks coffee, whom Starbucks called baristas, handwrote customers’ names on their drink orders. But Starbucks’ business has transformed, and it has struggled to maintain its identity as that third place along the way. In some stores, customers complained online that Starbucks pulled out comfortable chairs and replaced them with hard wooden stools. Mobile ordering was another major step in Starbucks’ road to becoming primarily a take-away business. We talked to several experts to help estimate the cost of creating a will and other estate planning documents. Average costsJack Hales, an estate and probate attorney at Hales and Sellers, said the cost of your estate plan can vary widely depending on what you need done. These frequently require notarization, which comes with a small fee, but other than that, they cost nothing but the cost of the paper on which they are written. Small changes using a lawyer may cost you a few hundred dollars, while updating your will through an online platform may only cost you $20. FAQsWhat is the average cost of creating a will?
