In the past 12 months, 22 Skiplagged.com customers were tripped up by failing to produce a visa for their flight. However, these types of issues affected just 0.3% of Skiplagged's customers, Zaman said.

"Just two-and-a-half years ago, everyone was saying, 'We need to hire coders,'" Petzold tells CNBC Make It. "I was even talking to my own children about, 'Oh, maybe we need to go the crowd coding route,'" he jokes. To be sure, having up-to-date digital skills is important for workers across industries and career levels, Petzold says. "If you're in marketing, or if you're in a warehouse, you need to understand technology." But because companies can train workers on learning developing tech to serve their business, Petzold says leaders are most interested in hiring people with a different set of skills.

Courts generally defer to the executive and legislative branches on national security matters, but the outcome may depend on whether the court frames the issue solely as a national security question or also considers First Amendment concerns. "There's a lot of good and there's a lot of bad with TikTok," Trump said. However, the app's popularity should not outweigh the national security concerns it poses, particularly given its ties to the Chinese government. Allowing donor-driven priorities to eclipse these legitimate security concerns undermines public trust in the policymaking process and erodes confidence in government institutions. Americans deserve a government that treats national security as a top priority and not one that is negotiable or secondary to the interests of private wealthy donors.

AirBaltic plans to be the first airline to restart flights to Ukraine in the event of a peace agreement, CEO Martin Gauss told Business Insider. Oscar Andrade says every day is an opportunity to rescue migrants in the Arizona desert, where temperatures exceeded 110 degrees Fahrenheit this year. For Andrade, the number of sets of migrant remains is a cause for worry. According to the researchers’ data, the largest discrepancies in numbers occurred in 2021 and 2020, when Pima County recorded 225 and 206 migrant deaths, respectively, compared with Border Patrol data, which totaled 78 and 43. Border Patrol changes and their impactMartinez and his team of researchers noted that the discrepancies in the numbers of migrant deaths between coroners' offices and Border Patrol began to increase in 2013 and have not stopped growing. Under a border security initiative that ended in 2012, Border Patrol was responsible for trying to find as many deaths as possible in border counties.

We started going on a walk with them every evening, and it helped so much. Adding a walk to our routine helps our family connect, and helps ease them into bedtime. That is until I began implementing a tried-and-true parenting hack in our evening routine: a change of scenery. I decided to re-commence our evening walks once power lines had been repaired and fallen trees removed, and as expected, there was some pushback from my preschoolers. Once our meal is in the oven or turned to simmer, I announce, "It's time for our evening walk!"

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Monday defended President Joe Biden's decision to pardon his son, Hunter Biden, despite telling the press multiple times that the president had no such plans. She added, "Hunter was singled out, and because his last name was Biden, because he was the president’s son. Hunter Biden, the president's only surviving son, was found guilty in June on federal gun charges and pleaded guilty in a separate tax evasion case in September. During a White House press briefing on Nov. 7, Jean-Pierre again dismissed a question about whether Biden had planned to pardon his son. Asked Monday about the pardon, first lady Jill Biden said, “Of course I support the pardon of my son."

Mr. Biden said, as recently as June, that he wouldn’t pardon Hunter or commute his sentence, and his press secretary reiterated that he had no plans to pardon Hunter after last month’s election. It is “not limited to all offenses charged or prosecuted” and encompasses the period when the younger Mr. Biden joined the board of Burisma. Mr. Biden sought to define his presidency in counterpoint to the corruption and indecency of the first Trump years. With the pardon of his son, Mr. Biden added his name to the roll call of presidents who dishonored their office by misusing the pardon power. By changing his plan to issue this pardon, Mr. Biden himself seemed to recognize how wrong it was, and is.

I understand why people track their kidsMost people track their children for one of two reasons: to ensure their safety or to ensure they're going where they said they were. But that extra step feels like we're communicating and respecting each other, rather than me stealthily watching him on my phone. But it's one more way they're growing up; I'm trying to grow up and let go as well.

CNN —At least 200 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes on northern Gaza Saturday, according to local health officials, as the United Nations said it would pause aid deliveries through the enclave’s main crossing after more of its trucks were stolen. The figure is thought to be an underestimate, as much of northern Gaza is inaccessible and many casualties never arrive at a hospital to be counted. A source involved in transferring aid inside Gaza told CNN that a further five trucks loaded with flour were stolen near the crossing Sunday. Israeli authorities “must ensure aid flows into Gaza safely and must refrain from attacks on humanitarian workers,” he said. CNN has reached out to COGAT, the Israeli agency responsible for approving aid into Gaza, for comment.

In the year since, the rebels have menaced key Middle East shipping routes with missiles and drones, disrupting maritime trade. However, the ongoing Houthi attacks have caused a notable decline in activity along that critical route, forcing ships to make longer and more expensive trips around Africa. Over the past year, the Navy has fired off hundreds of munitions in its Middle East operations, costing over $1.8 billion and draining the Pentagon of key missiles that are expensive to procure. Officials stress that Washington will continue to act against the Houthis to stop their attacks. Even as some warships left the Middle East earlier this month, other vessels have already moved in to take their place.
