Quarterbacks Jayden Daniels versus Lamar Jackson should be pure fireworks, but it's far from the only intriguing matchup this weekend. Henry has scored in all five games this season while rushing for a league-high 572 yards. Considering down and distance, Henry has rushed for 229 yards more than expected, according to advanced NFL stats. Kirk Cousins, meanwhile, is fifth in passing yards per game despite a slow start for Atlanta’s offense. The Lions are conceding 349.0 yards per game, 11th-worst in the NFL.

CNN —Aaron Rodgers denied rumors that he was involved in the firing of New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh when he appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Wednesday. The Jets fired Saleh on Tuesday after a disappointing 2-3 season start. He was a big reason why I came to the Jets,” Rodgers said of their partnership. Brad Penner/USA Today Sports/ReutersDespite denying rumors of his involvement, the 40-year-old admitted he spoke with franchise owner Woody Johnson the day before Saleh was dismissed. “He is a tough coach who has the respect of the coaches and players on this team,” Johnson said.

Head coach Robert Saleh of the New York Jets celebrates with Aaron Rodgers #8 after a touchdown against the New England Patriots during the second quarter in the game at MetLife Stadium on September 19, 2024 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The New York Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh, according to multiple published reports on Tuesday, following the team's disappointing start with Aaron Rodgers back at the helm — and amid seeming tensions between the coach and the star quarterback. Saleh, who was hired by the Jets in 2021, finished his Jets head coaching record at 20-26. The Jets committed five false start penalties in the Denver loss and Saleh said it could be linked to the tricky cadence Rodgers employs when barking out pre-snap signals. And in the win over New England, Rodgers appeared to rebuff an attempted hug from Saleh after a touchdown.

None of the top five fantasy players coming into the season based on average draft position is in the top 48 in fantasy scoring. (The fantasy scoring numbers here are provided by TruMedia, and the average draft position statistics were compiled by Fantasy Pros.) Aaron Jones (15.7 fantasy ppg) has been a good pick but left early Sunday with a hip injury. The only bright spot for Las Vegas is rookie tight end Brock Bowers, who is 76th in fantasy scoring (13.3). Brian Thomas Jr. is 35th in fantasy scoring (16.2 ppg), which is second-best among rookie wide receivers behind only Malik Nabers.

The Minnesota Vikings are still undefeated after a 23-17 win over the New York Jets in London. Quarterback Sam Darnold threw for 179 yards on Sunday against the team that drafted him first overall in 2018, but he was buoyed by a stellar performance from the Vikings defense. Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for 244 yards and two scores, but he was inefficient, completing only 29 of 54 attempts. Rodgers led a short, five-play, 31-yard drive in the final minute of the first half for a New York touchdown. But after leading the Jets into Minnesota territory, Rodgers threw his third interception of the day, ensuring a loss for New York.

Nguyen: With Aaron Rodgers’ age and their defense, the Jets have a small window to make some noise. In theory, Adams would also add some much-needed explosiveness to a Jets offense that entered this week ranked 29th in the NFL in total yards and 27th in points. The Bills’ defense also suffered losses in free agency, and holes went unfilled even though Buffalo’s top competitors in the AFC include elite offenses in Kansas City, Baltimore and Cincinnati. Watson isn’t just not playing well, he’s playing like one of the worst quarterbacks in the league. Maybe improved offensive production would help ease pressure on the Browns’ defense.

Week 5 of the NFL season is here and we have a full slate of intriguing storylines to follow, led by a pair of players facing former teams. While Rodgers has the accolades, Minnesota's Sam Darnold has been the better quarterback so far this season. Cardinals (1-3) at 49ers (2-2)The 49ers’ offense has been banged up, but it rebounded last week in a win over New England. An NFL All-Pro four consecutive years while in Buffalo, Diggs is averaging a career-low 9.3 yards per catch in Houston. That’s not a good sign for a defense that has allowed 26.0 points per game, the fifth-highest average.

I spent some time alone after things ended, but by the end of 2012, I was ready to re-embrace online dating. Within a few years, my fellow millennials and I were reportedly spending 10 hours a week on dating apps. "Dating apps are designed to be a miserable experience," Stephanie Rodgers, the founder of the forthcoming dating app Verb, said. Increasingly, it feels like dating apps make things more monotonous and cumbersome to incentivize us to pay for upgrades. And while dating apps' cost in terms of harassment, threats, and violence is paid disproportionately by women, its financial cost is disproportionately paid by men.

CNN —High-scoring matches, unwanted records and an unlikely winning run – Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League round seemed to have it all. Manchester City equals ‘unbeaten’ recordManchester City has set a number of records while commanding the English Premier League in recent seasons, but it appears its dominance also stretches to the Champions League. The Scottish side was unbeaten this season heading into the game, having also won its first Champions League match 5-1 last month. While City and Dortmund won easily on Tuesday, Barcelona also thrashed Young Boys 5-0 and Internazionale beat Red Star Belgrade 4-0. The French side continued its perfect start to the new Champions League season with a 4-0 win against Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday.

A coalition of reproductive rights organizations is unleashing a $15 million advertising campaign backing abortion rights as Arizona faces a key ballot measure on the issue this fall. The ad blitz from Arizona for Abortion Access includes broadcast, streaming, radio and mail advertisements that will blanket the state through Election Day — and as early voting kicks off in the state on Oct. 9. The group has spent about $2 million on advertising in the last two months, according to the tracking firm AdImpact. The ad is Arizona for Abortion Access’ second spot on the Arizona airwaves. Abortion is legal in Arizona up to 15 weeks and then beyond that, for medical emergencies, any medical emergency,” Dahlgren said.

If you like your European midweek football this is the week for you, with 54 Champions League, Europa League and Conference League matches being crammed into three nights. The Champions League kicked things off with some of the competition’s favourites beginning to bare their teeth. It was also, incredibly, their 31st defeat from 37 Champions League group stage away games. Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden, Erling Haaland and a first Champions League goal for James McAtee saw City get their first win of this year’s competition. They lost a number of key players in the summer and can’t even play Champions League games at their own home, with the 15,000 capacity Stade Francis-Le Ble not up to Champions League standards (they’re hosting matches at Guingamp’s Stade du Roudourou instead).

Ligue 1 side Brest took no time to acquaint themselves with the Champions League, beating Austrian champions Sturm Graz 2-1 on their debut in the competition. It was the first time in the Champions League that three substitutes had all directly contributed to a goal.

In honor of Jayden Daniels’ historic start to his NFL career, the Power Rankings are checking in on rookies this week. Last week: 4Sunday: Beat Green Bay Packers 31-29The Vikings are having the NFL’s most surprising season without much help from their rookie class. The number of Republican women in the House has tripled to a record 36, including two nonvoting members. Others involved in the effort to boost GOP women are also hopeful they can reach a new milestone this year. The number of House candidates has dropped overall since 2022, a redistricting year that brought a surge of new candidates. The Center for Women and Politics found the steepest drop was among Republican women. For Stefanik, the effort to recruit more GOP women to run for the House has been a resounding success.
