The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has opened an administrative review as videos circulating online show violent interactions between deputies and fans at this weekend's University of Florida and University of Georgia rivalry football game. One video went viral after being posted by Tate Moore, a Barstool Sports employee, where two game spectators appeared to be repeatedly punched by deputies. As they speak, the camera pans to a deputy appearing to hold a stun gun a few feet away. It then sounds as if the stun gun was deployed and the man pulls the cords to the gun off him and stands up yelling. "I’m aware of several disturbing videos circulating from yesterday’s game," Deegan said.

The Cleveland Browns pulled off a massive upset Sunday, defeating the Baltimore Ravens 29-24 behind a stellar performance from quarterback Jameis Winston. The Browns entered Week 8 with a 1-6 record, with quarterback Deshaun Watson last in the league in quarterback rating. And he responded by outdueling Ravens quarterback and MVP candidate Lamar Jackson, who had led his team to five straight wins before Sunday. TAMPA, Fla. — South Florida coach Amir Abdur-Rahim, who led the Bulls to the American Athletic Conference’s regular-season championship a year ago, has died, the school announced Thursday. “Coach Abdur-Rahim leaves a lasting impact on our student-athletes, the university and the community. His 2022-23 team at Kennesaw State went 26-9 and made the NCAA Tournament, earning him the shot to coach at USF. Demands for a federal investigation mount as witnesses and survivors of a gangway collapse at a dock in Georgia describe the “catastrophic failure” that killed seven people traveling for a festival celebrating Gullah Geechee history. CNN —Emotional accounts from relatives of the victims and survivors of the partial collapse of a boat dock gangway on Georgia’s Sapelo Island and a newly released video of the frantic rescue efforts paint a dramatic picture of Saturday’s incident. The seven victims were among the dozens of people who traveled to Sapelo Island last weekend to celebrate the Gullah-Geechee, a community of descendants of Africans who were enslaved on coastal plantations in the South. DARIEN, Ga. — The seven people killed Saturday in a gangway collapse on a Georgia barrier island were all in their 70s, except for one woman in her 90s, the coroner said Sunday. A portion of the gangway which collapsed Saturday afternoon remains visible on Sapelo Island in McIntosh county, Ga., on Sunday. Sapelo Island ferry service will resume Monday using an auxiliary dock, Department of Natural Resources spokesperson Tyler Jones said Sunday. It’s not clear if any of those who died in Saturday's collapse were Gullah Geechee people. Meanwhile, Grovner said, survivors of those who died Saturday will be embraced by the Gullah Geechee and their longstanding fight to exist.

While rent prices are undoubtedly rising, it’s unclear how much of the jump is due to corporate investors who buy up multiple properties. “Community after community feels taken advantage of by Wall Street investors and corporate landlords who have bought thousands of single-family homes during recent downturns,” Harris’ policy platform reads. A CNN analysis found that rent increases recently outpaced wage growth in cities with a meaningful presence of big investors. Ownership by corporate landlords, which CNN calculated by combining limited liability entities, real estate corporations and real estate investment trusts, stood at 16%. The number of single-family homes under construction dramatically decreased after the 2008 financial crisis, and construction never really returned to pre-recession levels.

CNN —A ferry connecting an island off the coast of Georgia resumed operations Monday while the investigation to see what might have caused a deadly dock collapse that killed seven people continues. “Our hearts continue to go out to the victims, their families, and all of those involved in Saturday’s tragic occurrence on Sapelo Island,” said Walter Rabon, the department’s commissioner. Wembley Stadium, London CNN —The Jacksonville Jaguars returned to winning ways with a 32-16 victory against the New England Patriots in London’s final NFL game of the year. At Wembley Stadium, a venue that has become the Jaguars’ home from home in recent years, Jacksonville picked up a much-needed win, and in emphatic style. The Patriots made lightwork of getting down the field on their first drive and were rewarded with an early touchdown. Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. catches a 6-yard pass for a touchdown. Jacksonville Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby rushes for his first touchdown against the New England Patriots.
