Oil prices keep pushing higher as tensions build in the Middle East, and the moves in crude appear to be weighing on the stock market. Overlaying the charts of the United States Oil Fund LP (USO) and the S & P 500 in recent days shows that the fund and the index appear to be inversely correlated. In other words, when the oil fund climbs during the day, the stock market tends to dip, and vice versa. This is a change from rest of the year, when there appeared to be little relationship between the price of oil and the broad stock market. In midday trading Thursday, U.S. crude oil prices were up 4% , and the USO had jumped roughly 3%.

Janus Henderson said recently that it's partnering with Anemoy Limited and Centrifuge to create Anemoy's Liquid Treasury Fund (LTF), an on-chain technology-based fund that will give investors direct access to short-term U.S. Treasury bills. "It's not necessarily a threat to the ETF industry," Nick Cherney, Janus Henderson's head of innovation, said on CNBC's "ETF Edge" this week. This is Janus Henderson 's first tokenized fund, according to a news release by the firm. Cherney notes it would have all the traditional features of an ETF.

Scripps' Ion and NBA TV, among others, according to data the WNBA released on Friday. In addition, WNBA game attendance hit its highest level in 22 years, and grew almost 50% from the 2023 season, according to the league. Asked about the dynamic on CNBC earlier this month, WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert did not explicitly condemn the vitriol toward players, sparking criticism from around the league.

Pest control maker Rentokil Initial said Wednesday that Trian partner Brian Baldwin would join the Terminix owner's board effective next week. The company said Baldwin, who has worked at Nelson Peltz's firm since 2007, will also join the nominating and compensation committees. The accession comes three months after Trian first disclosed a roughly $400 million position in Rentokil, and two weeks after the company issued a profit warning. CNN —A Pennsylvania health care system this month agreed to pay $65 million to victims of a February 2023 ransomware attack after hackers posted nude photos of cancer patients online, according to the victims’ lawyers. Eighty percent of the $65-million settlement is set aside for victims whose nude photos were published online. The ransomware attack “was limited to the network supporting one physician practice located in Lackawanna County,” the Lehigh statement continued. A February ransomware attack on a major health insurance billing firm cut off health providers from billions of dollars and put some health clinics on the brink of bankruptcy. A full-scale ransomware attack on a health care provider has many costs aside from potential lawsuits, from rebuilding computer systems to retaining legal counsel, Henderson said.

Those users then appealed to the Board, which exists for users to challenge Meta’s appeals process on Facebook, Instagram or Threads.
