CNN —South Korean sharpshooter Kim Ye-ji, whose seemingly effortless shooting style and “aura” enthralled the internet this summer, is one of the stars of the latest Balenciaga campaign. “This is a Balenciaga Campaign” was shot by Juergen Teller, whose famed — and sometimes controversial — deadpan style is a fitting match for Kim’s own inscrutable sense of cool. A lawyer for rapper Azealia Banks sent a cease-and-desist letter to The 1975 frontman Matty Healy after he threatened to slap her during a heated exchange on X last week. Disney influencer Dominique Brown died last week after reportedly experiencing a severe allergic reaction at a holiday brand event in Los Angeles. The incident occurred at an event hosted by the pop culture merch retailer BoxLunch on Thursday evening, according to a spokesperson for BoxLunch. Phil Murphy, a Democrat, signed a law Monday prohibiting public schools and libraries from banning books and protecting librarians who obey state law. “Across the nation, we have seen attempts to suppress and censor the stories and experiences of others,” Murphy said in a statement. New Jersey is the third state to sign a law prohibiting the banning of books at public schools and libraries, following Illinois and Minnesota. The new law is set to take effect in a year from the governor’s signing. However, the state education commissioner and the New Jersey state librarian are permitted to start implementing it immediately “as may be necessary,” the law states.
