With the prosecution in agreement, Superior Court Judge H. Patrick Haggard approved 26-year-old Jose Antonio Ibarra’s waiver. Ibarra, through his translator, told the judge he understands he can’t go back and change this decision. Riley, a 22-year-old Augusta University College of Nursing student, was killed on February 22 while out for a run on the University of Georgia’s campus. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding a mutilated dolphin found dead on a New Jersey beach last week. Staff from the Marine Mammal Stranding Center examine a Common dolphin carcass that appears to have been butchered. The night before the grisly discovery, a common dolphin was reportedly struggling in the surf a block away, according to the stranding center. It is not known if the dolphin that was butchered was the same animal, the stranding center said. The remains were buried on the beach, the stranding center said.
