Many Halloween candies have a long and fascinating history. Inflation may send candy prices higher this season. Halloween is known throughout the United States as a time for tricks and treats. NPR reported that candy prices are also set to jump this year, thanks to inflation. Insider looked into the origins of some classic snacks associated with Halloween.
McDonald's restaurants in Louisville, Kentucky, will soon get a new addition to the menu. Consumers in the city will be able to order Krispy Kreme doughnuts at select McDonald's locations. McDonald's will sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts at a handful of restaurants in Louisville, Kentucky. Three Krispy Kreme doughnuts will be featured: their Original Glazed Doughnut, the Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles Doughnut, and the Raspberry Filled Doughnut. "This small-scale test will help us understand how offering new bakery items like Krispy Kreme could impact operations in our restaurants," the release said.

Adobe Analytics is predicting major discounts this holiday season. Consumers could see major price drops in categories like electronics and toys. The report found that categories like electronics, toys, and computers are slated for major price cuts. Retailers will also attempt to entice inflation-weary shoppers with early discounts, such as Amazon's second Prime Day, on October 11 and 12. According to Adobe, some of the price cuts could hit record highs of 32% and above, especially for gift items like electronics, toys, and computers.
