This month, Realtor.com released its ranking of the top 10 cities with the lowest cost of living based on the latest regional price parities data from the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA). The regional price parities measure the differences in price levels of goods and services across states and metropolitan areas and are shown as a percentage of the overall national price level, the BEA states. Home prices tend to be lower in the South and the Midwest," Jones says. "Markets in the South and the Midwest can expand as demand picks up, which helps keep housing costs low. The price of housing is relatively affordable because of their ability to adapt to demand."

China's Ministry of Commerce on Thursday emphasized the country's efforts to restrict illegal exports of military goods to Russia as it seeks to cast Beijing as a neutral player amid the ongoing war in Ukraine. The term refers to goods or technologies that can be used for civilian as well as military purposes. China on Saturday unveiled an export control law for dual-use items, set to take effect Dec. 1. Despite the timing of its release, the text of China's new export control law does not mention specific countries. And Xi did not mention the export controls in during his trip to Russia, according to official statements.

Counterfeiting has ballooned into a massive problem for Crye, costing it millions of dollars a year, said Jonathan Antone, the company's general counsel. By 2016, sellers were speaking out about Amazon's growing counterfeit problem, telling CNBC of the company's effort to openly court Chinese manufacturers. "There's a lot more space on that digital shelf for potential counterfeit products," he added. Agents seized "multiple tractor trailer loads" of counterfeit MultiCam products, estimated to be worth $8 million, according to court documents. Crye showed CNBC examples of counterfeit MultiCam products that were allegedly sold by retailer L&Q Tactical, one of the defendants in the lawsuit, on Amazon.

Analysts at Itau BBA, the largest investment bank in Latin America, said investors should short Apple and Amazon before their quarterly financial results are released on Oct. 31. Investors also often use options contracts to take a short position on a stock to limit losses or amplify returns. However, Itau analysts said Apple's shares have "been performing well in a not-so-strong environment" and pointed to its elevated valuation levels. Apple stock now trades at 31 times price-to-next year's earnings, compared to the stock's five-year average of 26 times, according to FactSet. Some 3 million people tuned in to the broadcast on Chinese shopping platform Taobao, which was the first time a Chinese firm has put tickets for space tourism up for public sale. Members can avail themselves of the discount by linking their Amazon account to Earnify, a loyalty program app by BP. Amazon’s newest savings benefit could alleviate some of that potential grief for its over 184 million Prime subscribers. How Amazon is retaining its leadFuel and energy probably isn’t the first sector to come to mind when you think of Amazon, but analysts say that the recent inclusion of gas savings doesn’t come as too much of a surprise. “Other retailers are still playing catch up to Amazon, and Amazon wants to retain its lead,” Saunders said.

The company had slashed its full-year adjusted operating margin target to 9.4% in July, despite an uptick in U.S. volumes because of the shift. It now expects a full-year operating margin of 9.6%. UPS saw a 6.5% growth in average daily volumes in its domestic segment in the third quarter. Its adjusted operating margin of 8.9% was above last year's 7.7%, on cost cuts.
