For younger wealthy investors, though, stocks come in behind seven other types of investments, including real estate, cryptocurrency, private equity and direct investment into companies. Klontz says that younger wealthy investors may be falling victim to some of the same cognitive biases that regular investors do — and it may be holding them back from maximizing their returns. Young people have ignored traditional advice 'for thousands of years'In general, it's not surprising that younger investors, regardless of wealth level, want to chart a different path than older generations. That's in part because broadband customer growth at providers including Charter and Comcast has struggled, according to the companies' earnings reports. Spectrum Mobile has 8.8 million total lines and has grown rapidly due to enticing promotional deals and increased mobile usage on reliable Wi-Fi networks, the company said. "When I think about Wall Street, I think about the customer," Winfrey said. The market's turn toward treating good economic news as positive for stocks is pictured here in a chart from Citi strategists, showing the three-month correlation between the S & P 500 and the Citi U.S. Economic Surprise index has turned sharply higher. The S & P 500's low for the week was Wednesday morning, right at the 5400 level where it previously hit a low a week ago Friday after a tepid employment report. Forward 12-month S & P 500 earnings forecasts continue to rise smartly, now approaching $270. But, thanks to the past two months of sideways churn, that's down from 21.7 when the S & P first hit its current level in July. And the rally last week could well have front-run any potential positive inference from the Fed's move next week.

HONG KONG — China said Friday it would raise its retirement age for the first time in decades, as the world’s second-largest economy struggles with falling birth rates and an aging workforce. The country’s top legislative body approved a draft proposal to gradually implement the changes, state media reported Friday. China's retirement ages are among the lowest in the world and had remained unchanged since they were set in the 1950s. For those born in 1965, retirement would be delayed by one month, according to a chart published by Xinhua, China’s state-run news agency. The changes have been the subject of heated discussion among the Chinese public since they were proposed earlier this year.

The third-quarter estimated tax deadline for 2024 is Monday, Sept. 16, and skipping a payment could trigger a penalty, according to the IRS. Typically, you need estimated payments for any income without tax withholdings, such as earnings from self-employment, contract or gig economy work and investment or retirement income. Some filers also need estimated payments if they haven't withheld enough taxes from a full-time or part-time job. Estimated payments can help avoid "refund disappointment or balance due shock," said Mark Steber, chief tax information officer at Jackson Hewitt. Before we get into the charts, it's important to discuss the process of choosing to write about TSLA this week. In other words, oftentimes, the most comprehensive method to locate constructive trade set-ups is reviewing a big list and taking note of the charts that look attractive. That's why I frequently intentionally do NOT look at the chart's stock symbol while going through a long list. I want the chart, and only the chart, to be the factor that influences my decision to potentially buy or sell it. Thus, seeing the above potential breakout attempt come to fruition would have a meaningful impact on its longer-term trend, too.
