On Wednesday, Senate Democrats voted to declare as unconstitutional both articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas — effectively ending the trial. Democrats agreed with Schumer's move, effectively rendering the articles moot and the trial over before House Republicans could present their case.
