The study found more than 110 pro-Wagner accounts operating in more than a dozen languages across Meta’s platforms. Even if the accounts are not directly affiliated with the Wagner group, ISD said, the content they created still likely violates Meta’s terms. The ISD report, meanwhile, highlights how there may be additional violating content that Meta has not detected and removed. Of these pages, ISD wrote, “the most viewed post, a video with over 712,000 views, shows Wagner mercenary forces testing tank traps set up at a defensive line in Ukraine. These pages were also found to be luring Facebook users to Telegram with links to graphic content showing dead bodies.”

Job adverts that don't list a degree requirement have increased by 90% in the UK, LinkedIn says. Major firms including IBM, Google, and Tesla are hiring more based on skills over qualifications. Companies including IBM, Accenture, Dell, Bank of America, Google, and Tesla are among those that are increasingly hiring based on skills. The fastest-growing in-demand skills in job listings since November 2022 include communications, flexibility, professional ethics, social perceptiveness, and self-management, per LinkedIn. The Navy is offering $105,000 to keep naval aviators in uniform and to become senior officers. The goal is to keep "highly talented, hard-working" aviators and flight officers on active duty. The Navy is also offering more than $100,000 to naval aviators to stay in the service and become senior officers and admirals. While there is little recent data, historically, government investigations and reports have found that the Navy has struggled to retain pilots in necessary numbers. This year, it offered similar-sized bonuses for some pilots to stay past that mid-career point as well.

Protest leaders say thousands of reservists have stopped reporting for duty. "Brothers in Arms", a reservist protester group, seemed unmoved by the gesture, accusing Netanyahu of playing down risks to military readiness. The Supreme Court will on Sept. 12 hear arguments against a bill limiting some of its powers to void government decisions, which was ratified in a parliament controlled by Netanyahu's religious-nationalist coalition. The military has so far acknowledged a "limited" impact from the reservist protest, citing the loss of some veteran instructors from the air force's flight school. As of now, the IDF (Israel Defence Forces) can handle its missions and the goal is to put this matter behind us," he said.

LONDON, Aug 14 (Reuters) - Chelsea have broken the British transfer record for the second time in a year by signing Ecuador midfielder Moises Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion on an eight-year contract on Monday. Financial details were not disclosed but British media said Chelsea will pay 115 million pounds ($145.96 million), eclipsing the 106 million pounds record fee the London club paid to sign Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez from Benfica in January. Caicedo still had four years to run on his Brighton contract but had told the south-coast club he wished to leave. 'TOP MIDFIELDER'Caicedo signed for Brighton in February 2021 for a reported 4.5 million pounds and was loaned to Belgian club Beerschot in August that year. Since 2022, at least nine states – six so far this year – have passed laws to impose harsher penalties for organized retail crime offenses. The new and proposed laws aim to deter brazen retail crime and go after the so-called kingpins who lead organized theft groups. But critics say the measures may not actually reduce organized retail crime, and could disproportionately harm marginalized groups. Plus, dozens of states already have organized theft laws on the books and the crime is still increasing, according to trade associations. Retailers and lawmakers say the misdemeanor charges have emboldened theft groups and allowed organized retail crime to spread.

I was hired by McKinsey & Company as a business analystWhen I joined in 2016, my base salary was $80,000 plus an additional performance bonus. McKinsey provided a retirement program contribution of 7% of qualified compensation, and I also received a sign-on bonus of $5,000. The bonus was based on my performance after the first year, and it was calculated as a percentage of my base salary. Then in the following year, this bonus, combined with my base salary, was my new base for compensation. But I realized I was getting too used to this lifestyle, and I personally found myself losing humility and patience.

CNN —Vatican investigators looking into sexual abuse allegations at a Roman Catholic society in Peru have completed the first stage of their audit and will issue a report in the coming months, Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni told CNN Friday. SCV said its members, who were summoned by the Vatican’s envoys, have “collaborated diligently” and reiterated its commitment to working with the Vatican. Peruvian prosecutors said in the case of sexual abuse, none of the alleged victims came forward and the crime fell under the statute of limitations. A criminal case against Figari and other SCV members, alleging kidnapping, serious psychological injuries, and illicit association to commit a crime, is still ongoing. SCV said in 2017 Figari had been removed from the community, banned from contacting members, and prohibited by Vatican authorities from returning to Peru.

The Russian military is trying to recruit from neighboring Kazakhstan amid a manpower crunch, per Reuters. It's offering a $5,200 sign-on bonus, a salary of at least $2,000, and other benefits to Kazakh recruits. Russia's economy is also facing a manpower crunch amid the Ukraine war. However, the Kazakh government has not supported Russia's war in Ukraine and has urged for peace. The surveys found 42% of Russian industrial enterprises experienced a manpower crunch in July.

The BPLA's growth owes much to Maung Saungkha's skills in building bridges with other armed groups, according to a key ally and two analysts. It says armed groups that oppose it are "terrorists" who sow chaos and kill civilians. It has charged Maung Saungkha with sedition as it has done with most opponents of its rule. Some armed ethnic groups have long relied on drug trafficking for funds, according to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. Some soldiers have run away, homesick, bored and tired after two years of war, said Maung Saungkha, who declined to disclose how many members are in his group.

At one point, Russian officials even claimed to have kicked Ukrainian forces back out of the village, which Ukraine staunchly denied. “That’s the hardest part.”Images from drone footage show the extensive damage to Staromayorske, Ukraine. Ukraine’s position is made harder still given Russian forces are on the eastern side of the river, able to use its natural boundary from which they can fire artillery. The wall graffiti is equally bleak: “There is no love.” “God is for Russia.” “Welcome to Mordor.”It is a nihilism that only amplifies a key question Ukrainian forces have: Why do the Russian troops fight so hard for these tiny settlements? The fact that Russian forces fight so persistently for each settlement has raised doubts about claims that Russia’s defensive line is fierce but thin.

LONDON/MADRID, July 26 (Reuters) - Spain's Santander (SAN.MC) is planning to hire around 150 bankers primarily in the United States as part of its plans to accelerate growth in its investment banking business, three sources with knowledge of the matter said. Santander's global corporate and investment banking chief, Jose M. Linares, discussed the plans in a town hall held in New York last week, the sources said. So far, the bank has hired more than 20 senior investment bankers chiefly in the United States, Reuters has reported. Net profit at the bank's global corporate and investment bank rose 16% year-on-year in the second quarter to 899 million euros. Santander employs currently around 8,000 staff at its global corporate and investment bank.

July 25 (Reuters) - Randstad (RAND.AS), the world's biggest staffing firm, on Tuesday flagged weaker demand in a "challenging" jobs market, even as it beat expectations for second-quarter core earnings. "We've had an enormous surge in demand post-COVID ... from there we have sort of gradually seen demand pull back," he added. The company's shares recouped early losses to rise 3.5% by 1013 GMT, as its quarterly core profit beat market forecasts. Underlying earnings before interest, tax and amortisation (EBITA) fell 12% to 271 million euros ($299.8 million), but exceeded the 260 million seen in a company-provided poll. An employer survey from the World Economic Forum earlier this year found that employment could decrease 2% by 2027.

Private-equity recruiting for 2025 roles officially kicked off Friday, including at Apollo and TPG. Many of those bankers had barely started their current investment-banking jobs, and others were still in training sessions for them. As always, the firms were recruiting first-year investment banking analysts for jobs that won't start until 2025. Midnight interviews are not uncommon in private-equity recruiting, nor are "exploding offers," which demand that candidates make a decision before leaving the interview room to prevent them from shopping around. $300,000 offersOver the years, on-cycle recruiting has crept up on candidates earlier and earlier.
