CNN —A rift between Mexico and Ecuador is growing, with a series of diplomatic provocations this week that culminated in Ecuador rejecting Mexico’s ambassador to the country, and Mexico announcing that it would offer asylum to a wanted Ecuadorean politician. MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - A wave of wildfires in Mexico has claimed at least four lives, President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador told reporters on Wednesday. The reported deaths all come from Mexico state, the country's most populous which rings the capital, the president said. There are currently 116 forest fires burning across the nation. Around 400 fires have been documented in Mexico through March 15, torching a total of more than 13,000 hectares (32,000 acres), with some of the blazes reported as far south as Chiapas state, on the border with Guatemala. According to official data, the causes include both intentionally set fires as well as those caused by agricultural activities.

Squatters who took over a Beverly Hills mansion for five months seemed to take the saying literally. The squatters made money off of the home by hosting parties with entrance fees from $500 to $1,500, Curbed reported. According to Curbed, Yamout purchased the home in 2021 from Notre Dame Properties, which is allegedly "controlled" by Uwaydah. AdvertisementYamout took legal action against the squatters, filing an unlawful detainer lawsuit to evict them, Curbed reported. Gargiulo told Curbed that he has no regrets about living in the mansion or the headaches he brought the residents of Beverly Grove Place.

Hermes is being targeted in a new lawsuit accusing the luxury retailer of selling its coveted Birkin handbags only to customers who have spent exorbitant amounts of money at the store on other goods. The handbags can only be purchased in a Hermes store, not on its website. However, the lawsuit claims that the average customer can't just walk into a Hermes store, find a Birkin on display and buy it. Rather, customers that are "deemed worthy" will be shown a Birkin in a private room. Hermes sales associates are tasked with choosing customers that are qualified to buy Birkins, according to the lawsuit.
