It argued that Meta publicly touted low rates of harmful content while internal data revealed higher rates. Meta used these reports to convince the public its platforms were safer than they actually were, per the complaint. Meta defines hate speech per the CSER as "violent or dehumanizing speech, statements of inferiority, calls for exclusion or segregation based on protected characteristics or slurs." It only noted that they're both "rigorous surveys" used to poll users about their interactions with harmful content like suicide and self-harm, negative comparison, misinformation, bullying, unwanted sexual advances, hate speech, or discrimination.

Founded in 1976, Exodus International was a leader in the so-called “ex-gay” movement, which aimed to make gay individuals straight through conversion therapy programs using religious and counseling methods. HONG KONG (Reuters) - Hong Kong's financial secretary Paul Chan will attend an APEC meeting on Nov. 15-17 in San Francisco, it said on Tuesday, standing in for Chief Executive John Lee and smoothing over a diplomatically sensitive issue for both Beijing and Washington. Beijing had previously said Lee, who is subject to U.S. sanctions, should attend. The United States imposed sanctions on Lee in 2020 over his role in the crackdown of pro-democracy demonstrations. Earlier this year, a State Department spokesperson said Washington would work with Hong Kong to ensure "appropriate" participation in the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) meeting. A restaurant in North Carolina shut down after claiming that smoke from a cigar bar next door caused health issues. Two months later, it filed a lawsuit against the owner of Oasis Cigar Lounge as well as its landlord, local news site WRAL first reported. Other tenants in the building similarly had issues with secondhand smoke from the cigar lounge, he claimed. Oasis Cigar Lounge, meanwhile, left its premises in the shopping center in early October, it told The Local Reporter. "We simply did not want cigar smoke and toxins in our business."
