Nvidia's rise came after TSMC said on Thursday that demand remains high and supply remains constrained for high-end AI chips, which TSMC manufactures for Nvidia. Today, the demand is so high I had to work very hard to meet customer demand," Wei told analysts. On Wednesday, the semiconductor sector had its worst day since 2020, with big drops from AMD , Arm , Broadcom and Qualcomm alongside Nvidia. Bloom Energy is an up-and-coming artificial intelligence play, according to Morgan Stanley. Few would envy the task of competing against market leader Nvidia, which has between 70% and 90% market share, according to Mizuho Securities. Still, Nvidia gets most of the hype — and the revenue. Though the company will not confirm it, The Information reported last month that Cerebras has confidentially filed for an IPO. Still, Feldman expects that even consumer-directed AI models will grow larger, and larger models need faster chips. Competing with that mindshare is an uphill battle as Nvidia faces more competition and goes on defense.

Jefferies has identified a lesser-known and potentially undervalued Taiwanese company poised to benefit from the growing artificial intelligence sector. The investment bank said Insyde Software, listed on the Taipei Exchange, is well positioned to capitalize on the increasing demand for AI-enabled personal computers and servers. Jefferies initiated coverage of Insyde with a research note titled "Firmware Leader and Yet-to-be Discovered AI Play" on July 9 with a "Buy" rating and a price target that suggests a potential 42% upside from current levels. However, the stock has already risen by more than 30% since the ratings action, according to FactSet data, which shows the stock currently offers 17% upside potential. Founded in 1998, Insyde has established itself in the firmware industry, commanding over 50% market share in the personal computer segment, Jefferies suggests.

CNN —A local police officer saw the gunman on the rooftop during former President Donald Trump’s Pennsylvania rally on Saturday but was unable to engage him, Butler County Sheriff Michael T. Slupe told CNN’s Pamela Brown on Sunday. Slupe said that Butler Township officers received calls about a suspicious person outside the perimeter of the rally and went looking to find that person. The initial calls did not indicate the suspicious person had a gun, he said. During the search for the suspicious person, officers with township police discovered that the gunman was on the roof, and one local officer hoisted another to get up to the ledge. Had he known there were any threats of a gunman, Slupe said, he would have done “everything to stop him (Trump) from coming out.”

In the meantime, we received some terrific feedback from members after revealing in late May five stocks we would buy right here, right now. So which stocks would I buy right now? And while we expect Monday may not be a good day for tech stocks — remember it is only day three of the rotation — you have to buy AMD before the tide turns back to tech. I said that Best Buy was much more than just a brick-and-mortar company and that its integrity was high. More importantly, like AMD, Best Buy is where people will try out a new AI PC.

CNN —Iran is attempting to covertly stoke protests in the United States related to the conflict in Gaza, US Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines said in a statement on Tuesday, posing as activists online and, in some cases, providing financial support to protesters. “I want to be clear that I know Americans who participate in protests are, in good faith, expressing their views on the conflict in Gaza — this intelligence does not indicate otherwise,” Haines said. “Americans who are being targeted by this Iranian campaign may not be aware that they are interacting with or receiving support from a foreign government,” she said. Those protests have been hugely divisive domestically, making them a ripe target for foreign actors — like Iran — interested in amplifying discord within the US. A US intelligence assessment released in December reported that Iran also tried to meddle in the 2022 midterm elections.
