REUTERS/Caitlin Ochs/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsLONDON, Sept 26 (Reuters) - JPMorgan's (JPM.N) British retail bank Chase will ban crypto transactions made by customers from Oct. 16 due to an increase in fraud and scams, the company said on Tuesday. "We've seen an increase in the number of crypto scams targeting UK consumers, so we have taken the decision to prevent the purchase of crypto assets on a Chase debit card or by transferring money to a crypto site from a Chase account," a spokesperson for the bank said. JPMorgan has attracted more than 1.6 million customers to its Chase retail bank since launching the mobile app-based service in Britain two years ago, and plans to roll out the consumer bank in other international markets over time. Spain's Santander said last year it would block UK customers from sending real-time payments to crypto exchanges as part of measures to protect customers from scams.

Ukraine on Saturday morning launched another missile attack on Sevastopol on the occupied Crimean Peninsula, a Russian-installed official said, a day after an attack on the headquarters of Russia's Black Sea Fleet left a serviceman missing and the main building smoldering. The Russian Defense Ministry initially said that Friday's strike killed one service member at the Black Sea Fleet headquarters, but later issued a statement that he was missing. It said the air force conducted 12 strikes on the Black Sea Fleet headquarters, targeting areas where personnel, military equipment and weapons were concentrated. Crimea has served as the key hub supporting Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Sevastopol, the main base of Russia's Black Sea Fleet since the 19th century, has had particular importance for navy operations since the start of the war.

When the Fitbit tracker launched in 2009, 45 years after Yamasa's gadget cemented the 10,000-steps ideal in the public consciousness, it kick-started a boom in fitness wearables and spawned a frenzy for health data. This flood of easily accessible health data has certainly had some positive effects. Many fitness-tracking products also incorporate social-sharing features, which can give us a better perspective on how our exercise habits stack up against our friends', providing a little healthy competition as motivation. Many health- and fitness-tracking apps and wearables issue notifications throughout the day to urge their users toward their movement goals.

Press service of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine/Handout via REUTERS/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsSept 19 (Reuters) - Evidence suggests a deadly explosion at a busy market in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kostiantynivka this month was caused by an errant missile fired by Ukraine, the New York Times reported on Tuesday. Ukraine has said the Sept. 6 blast, which killed at least 16 people, was caused by a Russian missile. "Evidence collected and analyzed by The New York Times, including missile fragments, satellite imagery, witness accounts and social media posts, strongly suggests the catastrophic strike was the result of an errant Ukrainian air defense missile fired by a Buk launch system," the newspaper reported. The New York Times quoted a spokesperson for Ukraine's armed forces as saying the country's security service was investigating the incident, and under national law could not comment further. A spokesperson for Ukraine's military command referred Reuters to that comment cited in the New York Times story.

Arm Holdings, the British semiconductor and software maker, is set to go public on Thursday in the biggest initial public offering of 2023. This isn't the first time Arm shares have been available to the public. In its F-1 filing to go public, Arm said its CPUs "run the vast majority of the world's software." That would make Arm stock impressively expensive compared to peers in the tech sector. That said, while Arm shares are looking expensive today, if the company lives up to its high expectations, then the price begins to look more reasonable.

Hopes of a revival in the IPO market largely depend on the success of the high-profile listings of Arm and other marquee startups, including grocery delivery firm Instacart and marketing firm Klaviyo. Arm also told investors its royalty fees, which account for most of its revenue, were accumulating since it started collecting them in the early 1990s. Royalty revenue came in at $1.68 billion at the latest fiscal year, up from $1.56 billion a year ago.

However, some investors who would like to get immediate exposure to the Arm IPO through ETFs may be disappointed. However, this particular IPO highlights several difficulties that even large companies like Arm have in acquiring a broader ownership base through ETFs. The first problem is that Arm is not a U.S. company, it's British — which generally would exclude it from the S&P indexes. REUTERS/Nacho Doce/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsSept 13 (Reuters) - SpaceX's satellite internet venture Starlink posted a more than six-fold surge in revenue last year to $1.4 billion, but fell short of targets set by CEO Elon Musk, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing documents. The company had in a 2015 presentation projected the division would generate almost $12 billion in revenue and $7 billion in operating profit in 2022, the report said. Starlink has been in the spotlight since last year as it helps provide Ukraine with satellite communications key to its war effort against Russia. Musk had said in 2021, before the Ukraine war, that SpaceX will list Starlink when its cash flow is reasonably predictable. The Journal reported last month that SpaceX's surging revenue helped it turn a small profit in the first quarter of 2023 after two annual losses.

Arm may price its IPO above the indicated price range and will decide on how much it will sell its shares for on Wednesday, that source and a second person with knowledge of the matter said. Arm was considering publishing a revised price range that would have been higher, reflecting the strong investor demand. Pricing the approximately $5 billion IPO conservatively raises the chances of the shares trading strongly at their debut on Thursday, the sources added. The valuation that Arm has been seeking thus far represents a climb-down from the $64 billion valuation at which SoftBank last month acquired the 25% stake it did not already own in the company from the $100 billion Vision Fund it manages. Sales in China contributed 24.5% of Arm's $2.68 billion revenue in fiscal 2023.
