CNN —A 21-year-old soldier stationed in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, has been charged with murder in the death of a sergeant whose body was found in a dumpster on the military base after she disappeared. Rancy is in pretrial confinement awaiting a preliminary hearing, a Thursday news release from Fort Leonard Wood said. Fort Leonard Wood is about 140 miles southwest of St. Louis. Beck said at a news conference last week that the Fort Leonard Wood community is “devastated” by the tragic loss. CNN —A military law enforcement investigation is still ongoing into the incident at Arlington National Cemetery when an employee was reportedly pushed by a member of former President Donald Trump’s campaign. An Army spokesperson previously said in August that the service “considers this matter closed.”The Army on Friday released a highly redacted police report filed in August by the employee. “The law enforcement investigation into the incident remains open and we are therefore unable to provide further information at this time,” an Army release including the report said on Friday. In one photo that was shared online the grave of Army Master Sgt. The Bidens will attend a “dignified transfer” as the remains of the troops killed in the overnight assault Sunday return to U.S. soil. When two Native American boys from Nebraska died after being taken to a notorious boarding school hundreds of miles away in Pennsylvania, they were buried there without notice. After it opened in 1879 in an old Army barracks, thousands of Native American children were sent by train and stagecoach to Carlisle. In 1990, Congress passed the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, or NAGPRA.
