New York CNN —A broken McDonald’s McFlurry machine, arguably one of life’s greatest nuisances, has finally been solved thanks to a court ruling. McDonald’s franchises haven’t been able to fix the soft serve ice cream machines on their own because manufacturing company Taylor owns the copyright and exclusive rights to fix the machines — until now. The inability to make timely fixes has been a bane of the customers’ existence, so much so, that there’s a third-party website called McBroken.com that tracks their availability. Broken ice cream machines have been such a blemish on McDonald’s reputation that even competitors mock them for it. And perhaps a fix can’t come quick enough: Nearly 15% of ice cream machines are broken as of Monday, according to McBroken.

CNN —Emotional support animals registrations in the United States reached 115,832 last year, by an industry group’s count. But in the eyes of reptile rescuer Joie Henney, there’s only one:“Wally Gator” – his “gentle” certified emotional support alligator. The department “routinely” gets calls about “nuisance alligators,” she said, and refers callers to a permitted alligator agent trapper, per its protocols. Wally is often shown letting others pet and hold him, with Henney telling CNN in 2022, “He doesn’t show anger. We never could understand why.”Emotional support alligator, Wally, wanders in 2022 around Love Park in Philadelphia.

It allows the city to suspend a landlord’s rental license if police answer four or more “nuisance” calls in a year. Minnesota law meanwhile prohibits landlords from limiting or preventing calls for emergency services and also preempts local ordinances penalizing landlords over such calls. She later learned the calls ran afoul of Peoria’s nuisance ordinance. Last year, Maryland prohibited landlords from evicting tenants over the number of emergency calls to their addresses, as well as prohibited cities and counties from penalizing landlords for emergency calls. Jose Cruz Guzman, who serves on the board of Minneapolis’ Sky Without Limits Cooperative, said emergency calls to an apartment would prompt support from fellow residents.

Throughout "Wonka," Chalamet oozes infectious optimism and childlike wonder as he takes us on a journey packed with magical moments and simple joys, including a heartwarming rendition of "Pure Imagination." WHY WE’RE HEREWe’re exploring how America defines itself one place at a time. Halloween has become part of the identity of Salem, Mass., which attracts huge crowds and results in a lot of litter. Oct. 29, 2023The list of public nuisances in Salem., Mass., in high Halloween season is long and weird: Rowdy crowds imperiling 17th-century gravestones. Skirmishes over parking spaces at Gallows Hill or the Museum of Torture. Weary of the crunchy plastic carpet underfoot — and wary of their appeal to teens and closet drinkers — a growing roster of cities and towns is moving to ban nips altogether.

Over the past few decades, we have experienced one of the most significant and uneven legal evolutions ever seen in the United States. Seniors — people over the age of 65 — are now the fastest growing group of cannabis users in the United States. Since 2020, The United States has spent $4 trillion a year on health care, of which almost $580 billion was spent on pharmaceuticals alone in 2021. Sue Taylor, right, known as "Mama Sue," spoke to Dr. Sanjay Gupta for "Weed 7: A Senior Moment." As cannabis use has increased among seniors, cannabis ER-related visits have gone up, too.

Lyft CEO David Risher told CNBC's Jim Cramer on Friday he doesn't need to annihilate the competition — namely ride-share behemoth, Uber — to successfully turn around the struggling company. "I don't need to dethrone a king," Risher said, insisting the current market warrants two players because customers and drivers like to have options. "Five years from now, I hope people are no longer asking about Uber and Lyft," Risher continued, "I hope what they're saying is, 'Look what an amazing experience Lyft has created that'll help us get out and live our lives.'" Risher assumed the role of Lyft CEO just under a month ago, taking the reins from one of the company's co-founders, Logan Green. Risher made his name as an Amazon retail executive, joining the company in 1997 as its 37th employee, he told Cramer; he left in 2002.
The DeSantis administration had previously said it was looking into "A Drag Queen Christmas." "A Drag Queen Christmas" is a holiday-themed drag show that tours in 36 different cities and features stars from the reality show "RuPaul's Drag Race." In July 2022, the DeSantis administration filed a complaint against a Miami bar that hosted a drag show where minors were present. This year, Tennessee became the first to ban adult performances, including drag, from public spaces such as parks and schools. Public libraries across the US began facing backlash from some parents in recent years for hosting Drag Queen Story Hours.
Hong Kong CNN —Police in central Japan have arrested three people for taking part in pranks at a sushi conveyor belt restaurant. We will continue to do our best to … grow the conveyor belt sushi culture that is dear to Japan globally.”According to public broadcaster NHK, police arrested a 21-year-old and two teenagers on suspicion of obstructing the restaurant’s operations. Besides Kura Sushi, two other kaiten chains — Sushiro, owned by Food & Life Companies, and Hamazushi — previously told CNN they had suffered similar disruptions. In recent weeks, some Japanese social media users have even started to question whether conveyor belt sushi restaurants have a future in the country as consumers demand more attention to cleanliness. Kura Sushi said it would use AI-operated cameras to monitor customers to see if they’re misbehaving.
As the self-described "first non-engineer hire" to join Cryptovoxels, Robinson was brought on to fix these kinds of user nuisances. As part of the next rollout of features, Robinson tells me that Cryptovoxels will allow users to sell custom dances. According to Robinson, users can make money in other ways, like selling mini-game scripts and renting land for events like dances or NFT collection releases. For some reason, the Cryptovoxels world is also abundant with shrines, like the ancient Greece-inspired Frenetik Temple and the Jedi-themed Dark Junction. It's reminiscent of attending a presentation in the real world, except instead of pinning name tags to our shirts, they're superimposed over our heads in large white letters.
