This market is starting to summon the lighthearted take on a mullet haircut: business in the front, party in the back. BTC.CM= YTD mountain Bitcoin, YTD Every bullish argument for bitcoin comes down to "More people will soon have more ways to buy more of it." I've tracked the interplay between bitcoin and Nvidia shares for a while. The market's immediate response was simply to allow Nvidia to hold onto the $2.3 trillion in market value it's added this year, but not to pile on more. Meaning the current pace of new money entering these funds is not as heavy relative to total market value as it was nearly four years ago.

In new research, head of digital asset research Geoff Kendrick estimated that the token could hit $73,800 before November's US presidential election, a 12% gain from current levels. The biggest worry for allocators to hedge funds is crowding, according to a new Bank of America survey. AdvertisementAllocators are growing more worried about crowding at hedge funds. The survey — which spoke to 160 allocators with roughly $680 billion invested in around 4,300 hedge funds globally — found that the biggest hedge fund managers in the industry are still gobbling assets and market share despite their investors bickering about costs. This flavor of hedge fund brought in $10 billion in net flows in 2024's first six months, and the average multimanager firm runs $1.7 billion. Despite this, allocators, paradoxically, have grown even more concerned about crowding risks in their hedge fund portfolios.

CNBC Pro screened for stocks in the S & P 500 that were inversely correlated to Nvidia's over July, a month in which the chip maker's stock declined by 11.6%. By comparison, the S & P 500 notched a 1.1% gain, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite eased 0.8%. A correlation of 0 would indicate no statistical link between Nvidia's stock and the share price of the other companies. More than in any other foreign arena, Vance has sought to echo Trump on the Ukraine war. In doing so, he emphasized the thick vein of “scarcity politics” that runs through his foreign policy, arguing that the U.S. can’t equip Ukraine with enough materiel to hold back an opponent as vast as Russia. Vance described Ukraine ceding territory to Vladimir Putin as being in “America’s best interest” while appearing more supportive than Trump of remaining in NATO. The foreign policy views of Pence, vice president when Trump was in office, while not loved by everyone, were at least “mature” — they were informed by several terms experiencing the consequences of foreign policy becoming reality, according to Daniel Kurtzer, a former U.S. ambassador to Israel and now a professor at Princeton. Vance, on the other hand, brings “no foreign policy experience, certainly no expertise,” Kurtzer says, and he will fall in behind his boss when needed.

BlackRock CEO Larry Fink told CNBC's " Squawk on the Street " that he sees a future for bitcoin after previously being a " proud skeptic " of the cryptocurrency. "I'm a major believer that there's a role for bitcoin in portfolios," Fink said Monday, calling it "digital gold." The firm's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) has raked in more than $18 billion since its launch in January, making it the biggest bitcoin exchange-traded fund. Fink said political risk and rising government debt are some of the reasons for investors to own bitcoin. Fink said even outside of bitcoin, he sees rising public spending as one of the biggest issues facing the world.
