New Orleans news outlets report that the three were convicted of attempted manslaughter in the death of Linda Frickey, 73. Jury selection for the lone remaining suspect, who prosecutors said was behind the wheel when Frickey died, got underway after the three girls' guilty pleas were entered. Authorities said Frickey died of blunt force injuries after she became entangled in a seatbelt as carjackers sped away with her car on the afternoon of March 21. Outside the courthouse, Frickey's family talked with reporters about listening to statements two of the defendants made. 37 people joined a class action lawsuit against Apple over stalkers using AirTags to track them. The lawsuit, filed last year by two women, claimed Apple AirTags had been used by stalkers to track the location of their victims. "One of the most dangerous and frightening technologies employed by stalkers is the use of real-time location information to track victims," the lawsuit says. Others have also used AirTags to plot car thefts. The lawsuit claims that "individuals have been murdered — or murdered others — when using AirTags to track stolen property and confront thieves."

A carjacker knocked and ran over a pregnant woman to steal her Volkswagen car. Volkswagen said the incident is a "serious breach of the process" it has in place for emergencies. On February 23, a 34-year woman, who's six-months pregnant according to news reports, pulled into her driveway with her Volkswagen car. A man got off the BMW, knocked the woman to the ground, and drove off with her car with the child inside, running her over, according to police. The woman, whose injuries were serious, according to the police statement, is in the hospital in stable condition, and her car was found abandoned in a parking lot.
