Detroit (8-2), Cleveland (7-3), Jacksonville (7-3) and Houston (6-4) are currently in playoff position with a chance to end their droughts. DeVito's victory was particularly noteworthy, as he managed to throw three TD passes and post a 137.7 passer rating despite getting sacked nine times against Washington. Purdy is 40 for 51 for 629 yards, six TDs, no interceptions and a 157.3 passer rating the past two weeks for the highest passer rating ever in a two-start stretch. Bland tied an NFL record last week by returning his fourth interception for a touchdown this season.

Despite the luxurious lifestyle that National Football League players can often afford, New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito is happy to live with his parents. "It was a no-brainer for me," said DeVito, 25, in a recent interview with ESPN. Although he's a rookie, the New Jersey native has taken over as starting quarterback since the team's starting quarterback Daniel Jones and backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor were sidelined with injuries. "The decision was made since this level of football is stressful for a rookie, especially from the quarterback position. So everything outside of football is handled by my family."

___The generational shift at quarterback in the NFL reached a new milestone last week. This was the first time since Week 6 of the 2002 season that no quarterback born in the 1980s took the field. That raised the total of rookie starting QBs this season to nine, tying the non-replacement record set in 2019. The youth movement at quarterback has played a role in the struggles on offense across the league in the first half of the season, with scoring at its lowest mark through nine weeks since 2007. NEW YUCK, NEW YUCKThe performance so far this season for the New York teams has been rather offensive.
