Some airlines have revamped their premium economy services in recent months, with passengers increasingly tempted by the prospect of upgrading to more luxurious seating without blowing their budget. Delta plans to roll out a premium economy service to transcontinental flights in September, while Singapore Airlines announced its updated premium economy class in March with a 200-item food menu. 'The sweet spot between cost and luxury'Delta plans to roll out a premium economy service to transcontinental flights in September. AdvertisementCounterpoint director and aircraft interiors expert Rob Semple told BI that the key to convincing passengers to upgrade was to make premium economy "visibly better" than economy class to increase the sense of FOMO — while still maintaining a luxury gap between premium economy and the more expensive business class. CNN —As a flight attendant for over 28 years, I’ve had my fair share of bumpy rides. Heather Poole courtesy Heather PooleI’ve spent a lot of time telling them that I wouldn’t be a flight attendant if I felt flying were unsafe. Lately I’ve noticed flight attendants are quicker to stop the service when we begin to experience light turbulence. If you’re a fearful flier and have anxiety, let a flight attendant know, and we’ll go out of our way to check on you if things get bumpy. And once again, Ladies and Gentlemen, a reminder from your flight attendant: Keep your #@$%&!

Korean Air announced Monday that it would finish cabin service 20 minutes earlier on medium and long-haul routes. Korean Air said the change will allow inflight services to end before the plane descends for landing. AdvertisementIt comes after Singapore Airlines — also rated five stars — changed its cabin service protocol. Days later, Singapore Airlines said it would no longer serve meals when the seatbelt light is on. This is especially notable around the jet streams, where clear air turbulence is most common.

The other is clear air turbulence, which was involved in the Singapore Airlines incident. As the name implies, clear air turbulence is hard to anticipate since it isn't associated with clouds. It said that over a typical point, the most severe type of clear air turbulence increased by 55% between 1979 and 2020. The increasing difference in energy between the two layers means more energy goes into the jet stream, Gratton said.
