When Dad died after a massive stroke at age 67, none of us was particularly surprised. I'm the age he was when he diedI'm 67 now, the age Dad was at his death. Michael Showalter kept acting long after he realized he didn't want to do it anymore — mostly because he needed to eat. Showalter got his start in college doing sketch comedy as a member of The State (formerly The New Group). Fast forward roughly two decades and Showalter has found himself right where he was always meant to be. Elizabeth Holmes reported to prison on May 30, 2023, after being convicted of fraud and conspiracy. Before her sentence began, Holmes maintained a vegan diet and regularly drank green juices. Her prison camp in Texas serves foods like hot dogs, tacos, hamburgers, and macaroni. A vocal proponent of green juice, disgraced Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes will have to get used to some changes to her usual diet during her 11-year prison sentence. Other changes to her daily life will include limited access to technology and daily headcounts, Insider previously reported.

Holmes reported to a women's prison in Bryan, Texas, on Tuesday to start serving her sentence. Amanda Seyfried has weighed in on Elizabeth Holmes' prison sentence after portraying the disgraced Theranos founder in the Hulu miniseries "The Dropout." Seyfried appeared on "Good Morning America" on Tuesday, the day Holmes reported to a minimum-security women's prison in Bryan, Texas, to begin serving her 11-year sentence. There's a "new" Elizabeth Holmes in town, at least according to The New York Times. But did her teardown kill the black turtleneck? In March 2015, Glamour magazine asked Elizabeth Holmes about her style and ran a story about her called "Meet the $9 Billion Woman: Career Advice From Theranos Founder Elizabeth Holmes." Posters of Hulu's "The Dropout" feature Amanda Seyfried as Elizabeth Holmes, clad, of course, in the signature turtleneck look. Deep down, I don't think Homes killed the black turtleneck — not really.
CNN —Several stars are vocalizing their support for TV and film writers. The Writers Guild of America (WGA) is currently on strike as they seek better compensation and other concessions from studios and streamers. “Everything changed with streaming and everyone needs to be compensated for their work,” actress Amanda Seyfried told Variety on the red carpet. “Whatever I can do to support the guild,” Fallon said. She also spoke on the Met red carpet about being a member of the guild.
[1/3] Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes arrives to attend her fraud trial at federal court in San Jose, California, U.S., December 16, 2021. REUTERS/Peter DaSilva/File PhotoNEW YORK, March 23 (Reuters) - A key prosecution witness whose testimony helped convict Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes of fraud sued Walt Disney Co (DIS.N) on Thursday over a recent Hulu miniseries that he says defamed him by portraying him as corrupt. Rosendorff said the character, Mark Roessler, covered up Theranos' fraud by ordering the destruction of damaging lab results, falsifying records and engaging in other dishonest and unethical conduct. "At the time of the trial, (Rosendorff) was considered a heroic whistle-blower, a witness who was instrumental in the jury’s verdict convicting Holmes," the filing said. The case is Rosendorff v Hulu LLC et al, New York State Supreme Court, New York County, No.
Elizabeth Holmes lives on an expensive estate, prosecutors said in a court filing. They said her estate costs $13,000 a month in upkeep, according to cash statements from Holmes. The Theranos founder still shows "no remorse to her victims," prosecutors said. In a court document filed on Thursday, government lawyers said Holmes had lived on the estate for more than a year. Holmes "continues to show no remorse to her victims," the prosecutors said in the document.

Favored Oscars contender “The Banshees of Inisherin” led the film categories, with nominations including best musical or comedy film. It stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson. The ceremony, which was not broadcast last January over controversy surrounding the HFPA, will return to NBC on Jan. 10.
The family of Evan Seyfried, who died by suicide in March 2021, is suing his employer claiming he was harassed and bullied. The lawsuit against Kroger challenges a decades-old precedent in Ohio that prevents placing legal blame in the case of suicide. Evan Seyfried's family claims store managers harassed and bullied him, ultimately causing Seyfried to take his own life in March 2021. Pigg, the suit claims, told Seyfried he could hack into Seyfried's computer and track his internet usage, and later allegedly sent him obscene and pornographic messages from unknown numbers. Kroger did not respond to Insider's request for comment, but told the Enquirer it does not comment on ongoing litigation.
