CNN —Measuring about half the length of a Ford F-150, Kei trucks look almost like toys in comparison to your standard pickup truck. Instagram page Kei Trucks Appreciation Society (@keitrucksas) sells Kei truck-themed merchandise from hoodies to stickers and posts memes for its more than 95,000 followers. On X, Kei truck fans share pictures of mini trucks they spot in the wild. Most states lack Kei-specific regulation entirely, and so far, only 19 states allow Kei trucks on public roads. And data from Edmunds showed that Americans were trading in more midsize and large pickup trucks for compact trucks than vice versa.

Elon Musk has started an electric-vehicle price war that Tesla can't finish. In April, Ford CEO Jim Farley said Tesla's cuts could start an unsustainable price war. If it slides back into the red because of its price cuts, expect investors to run in another direction. In China, Tesla's price cuts even sparked protests among owners who paid more for their vehicles. Waging price war during a downturn is a challenge unlike any Tesla has faced before.

The Biden administration’s plan to cancel up to $20,000 of debt for tens of millions of Americans has faced endless pressure. But the suit against it, brought by six Republican-led states, has received much less scrutiny. That’s because the Supreme Court issued certiorari before judgment, meaning the suit did not first have to wend its way through lower courts. We found that the states’ most fundamental justification for bringing the case — that canceling student loans could leave a Missouri-based loan authority unable to meet its financial obligations to the state — is false. That assertion has been enough to get them to the nation’s highest court, and may help persuade the justices to rule in their favor.
71% of shoppers expect personalized marketing from brands, and 76% are frustrated if this expectation is not met. Success stories from Pack Up + Go, Dirty Girl Produce, and Honeywell Biscuit Co. demonstrate the benefits of personalized marketing. The email marketing company Mailchimp, for example, offers businesses the ability to target their audience, personalize their message, and deliver emails at the optimal time. One company that excels at this is Pack Up + Go, an online travel company that organizes surprise vacations in the US. To re-engage old customers at the end of August, Dirty Girl Produce used Mailchimp's Customer Journey Builder to automatically email customers who hadn't made a purchase in the past 60 days with a discount.
Users can reserve Hyundai electric vehicles using a smartphone app. Porsche also has a car subscription program available in 14 cities, according to Porsche’s web site. However, the Hyundai Evolve+ program doesn’t include any support for charging such as help installing a home charger or included access to public chargers. “We’re currently exploring ways to include the charging with the subscription,” Hyundai spokesman Miles Johnson said in an email. “It also could be a way to help drive the adoption of electric vehicles, providing EV intenders a platform to test electric vehicles without the long-term commitment.”
CNN —New car prices are finally coming down. Over the past few months, though, prices have fallen to only about $230 over MSRP, on average, according to Edmunds. Land Rover models, on average, still sell for $4,500 over sticker price while Kia models sell for about $1,600 over sticker price. For the past 17 months, though, according to Cox Automotive, vehicle inventory shortages have enabled car dealers to push prices above MSRP. Used car prices are also starting to come down a bit, something that could prod new car shoppers back into the market, said Drury.
