U.S. President Joe Biden attends the first presidential debate hosted by CNN in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S., June 27, 2024. Schumer was worried before the debate that Biden and Trump were in statistical tie nationally, despite the Republican challenger's conviction in his New York criminal hush money trial. "We've got to get out the vote for Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and a Democratic Senate and House!" "Vice President Harris is a risky choice, but certainly has the visibility and is the logical choice," said Bose. Biden has won nearly all of the roughly 4,000 Democratic pledged delegates, far exceeding the threshold to make him the party nominee.

Mike Blake | ReutersSince 2019, immigration has added 2 million workers to the U.S. labor supply, according to an April analysis by Tedeschi. Without immigrants, Tedeschi estimated that the size of the U.S. labor supply would have shrunk by 1.2 million during that period. The short answer is that this executive order will probably not increase inflation. Some experts say the executive order could bring down costs by smoothing out the U.S.-Mexico supply chain. Biden's executive order could help clear some of these supply chain bottlenecks.

Two years later, abortion rights remain a major issue in the 2024 election. Vice President Kamala Harris has taken the lead in the Biden campaign's push to highlight abortion rights on the campaign trail. The Senate filibuster requires a de facto 60-vote majority for legislation that would enshrine nationwide abortion rights protection into law. AdvertisementSome legal experts have also questioned whether Congress has the power to guarantee abortion access. Project 2025, an unofficial partnership of right-wing think tanks, has outlined an ambitious series of plans to curtail abortion rights if Trump wins in November.

Saul Loeb | Afp | Getty ImagesMost countries prefer alignment with the U.S. over China when the White House is occupied by a Democrat, according to Gallup poll data going back to 2007. "Significantly more countries seem to prefer U.S. leadership over Chinese leadership, at least under Democratic administrations," Gallup said in its report released Monday, adding that a Republican executive comes with a "net approval disadvantage." According to Gallup, the "bounce-back" under the Biden administration suggests that the U.S.'s net approval advantage over China is resilient, especially when accounting for more strongly aligned groups. China's favorability peaked in 2007 as it emerged on the global stage, but increased familiarity with Beijing has not boosted its appeal, Gallup said. Meanwhile, U.S. leadership has enjoyed a general net approval rate under the Biden and Obama administrations, compared with net disapproval rates under the Trump and last two years of the Bush leadership, the report showed.

To be sure, late payments don't always signal financial troubles. Creditsafe spokesperson Ragini Bhalla said payment data is only one factor the firm considers when assessing a company's financial health. Though the data "doesn't represent a company's total trading behavior, analysis has proven that it is hugely predictive of a company's financial health and creditworthiness," Bhalla said. "When the number of late payments increases like this, it's often indicative of financial challenges and poor cash flow forecasting," Creditsafe said. While Saks often made late payments last year, its on-time payments have dropped significantly since October 2023, the firm said.

The EPA set a target for EVs to make up at least 35% of new vehicle sales by 2032. The EPA's new strategy for cutting tailpipe emissions doesn't focus only on EVs. Washington CNN —President Joe Biden delivered a raucous third State of the Union address, one that could be among the most important speeches he gives during his presidency as he turns toward reelection. The result was the most raucous State of the Union in years, with the House chamber brimming with election year frission. President Joe Biden holds a "Say her name Laken Riley" button while delivering the State of the Union address in the House Chamber of the US Capitol in Washington, DC, on March 7. So it was unavoidable that Biden would face the issue during his State of the Union, whether he wanted to or not. And Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza, prompted by the terror attacks of October 7, has generated a humanitarian crisis that is dividing Biden’s political coalition.
