On Friday night, 60 million people watched live on Netflix as Jake Paul beat Mike Tyson in eight rounds of a boxing match. AdvertisementPaul spent much of the fight dancing around Tyson with his arms arrogantly low, taunting the legendary knockout artist to come close. Hardly anyone, conversely, will be calling for a rematch of the main event between Paul and Tyson. The YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul was far quicker in his combinations, far twitchier in his reflexes and far more fluid in his combinations, using his three-inch height advantage to keep Tyson out of range. But despite the exhibition-like rule changes, the fight was certainly spirited, with Paul sticking his tongue out to mock Tyson at one point. At the weigh-ins Thursday, Tyson delivered a stiff slap to Paul after Paul appeared to step on one of his feet.

Handwritten notes from Justice Sandra Day O'Connor's papers on a major abortion case in 1989. The correspondence and notes foreshadow where O’Connor landed in the 1992 Planned Parenthood v. Casey case, when Justice Anthony Kennedy, hostile to Roe v. Wade in 1989, was ready to join O’Connor in upholding Roe. Accelerating the tensions all around was the time pressure of the Missouri case. But it was only when Putin launched his full-scale invasion of Ukraine , in 2022, that Ammosov began to plot the overthrow of his homeland. As I found in months of wide-ranging interviews, everyone aspiring to a new Russian revolution grasps the seemingly impossible odds of their bid to topple Putin. New York CNN —Norfolk Southern on Tuesday faced harsh criticism from regulators for its decisions immediately after a February 2023 derailment in East Palestine, Ohio. Norfolk Southern told public officials who authorized the controlled burn, known as a vent and burn procedure, that it was the only way to prevent a catastrophic and uncontrolled explosion. But Stancil said that information was not communicated to the public officials who had to make the final decision. “Norfolk Southern… compromised the integrity of the vent and burn decision by withholding complete and accurate expert opinion and information from the incident commander,” Stancil said. “Several key factors indicated the strong possibility of a catastrophic, uncontrolled explosion.”“The vent and burn effectively avoided a potential uncontrolled explosion,” Norfolk said elsewhere in its statement.

Since then, circumstances — and earnings — have continued to rise for workers with just a high school diploma or some college. Improving job opportunities for "new-collar" workers without a degree continues to drive more students away from college. Finishing college puts workers on track to earn a median of $2.8 million over their lifetimes, compared with $1.6 million if they only had a high school diploma, Georgetown's report found. New data from the largest 3-D map of our universe suggests we may be wrong about dark energy. One of the driving forces behind that evolution is also one of our age's biggest mysteries in physics: dark energy. Einstein abandoned the idea as his "greatest blunder" in the 1930s, as astrophysicist Ethan Siegal explains, but a constant dark energy would have vindicated him. "If true, it would be the first real clue we have gotten about the nature of dark energy in 25 years," Adam Riess, a Nobel laureate for his co-discovery of dark energy, told Quanta Magazine. "The idea that dark energy is varying is very natural," Paul Steinhardt, a Princeton University cosmologist, told the magazine.

The used car market is more than twice the size of the new car market, and EVs are fast becoming a part of it. The battery is a significant component of an EV, because the cost of replacing it can exceed the value of the used car itself. "It's similar to how everyone in the used car ecosystem needs to know the odometer of a used combustion engine car," Case said. Hertz CEO out following electric car ‘horror show’

New York CNN —Trouble and turmoil continue at rental car company Hertz. But the problem for Hertz wasn’t necessarily that the cars were electric, and customers simply do not want to drive electric cars. There might not be a charging station, or enough time, for a rental car customer to charge an EV, Ives said. These cases sometimes resulted in Hertz customers being arrested and even imprisoned. Scherr wasn’t the one who decided to make the big bet on EV demand by rental car customers.
