Tom’s of Maine said in a statement Wednesday that it is working with the FDA and remedying issues raised from the May inspection. That water was used to manufacture Tom’s Simply White clean mint paste and for the final rinse of numerous equipment cleaning processes, the letter said. “Batches manufactured after these incidents were released based on the microbial testing of the finished OTC product despite the quality of the water used as a component or to clean the equipment,” the FDA letter said. The investigator “also observed powder residues at a stainless-steel tray” near a batch of Tom’s Silly Strawberry anticavity toothpaste. San Francisco tech bros lacked consideration and were more homogenous to one another. New York City tech bros are more diverse and considerate, yet dating remains complex. I've dated tech bros in San Francisco and New York City and have found that each city attracts completely different types of men. I wasn't looking to date tech bros, it just so happened every man I went on a date with in San Francisco was. The word charcuterie refers to cold cooked, cured, or smoked meats; so technically, a traditional charcuterie board is just a meat platter. A beautiful charcuterie board is a statement piece and a time-saver, since it typically requires little to no cooking. A charcuterie board can be left out for grazing for up to 2 hours. Charcuterie Board IdeasUnlike so other many recipes, the key to a good charcuterie board is doing what you want. How to Make a Charcuterie Board on a BudgetWith so many choices in building your board, it is easy to go overboard.

I reviewed all of Trader Joe's refrigerated ravioli that I could find and ranked them. Ulf Mauder/picture alliance/Getty ImagesMany observers fear the ruling Georgian Dream party will resort to anything to stay in power. This year, Georgian Dream pushed through a Kremlin-style “foreign agent” law, which critics say aims to shut down watchdogs who call the government to account. She described some of the statements made by Georgian Dream officials as a “copy-paste” of those from Stalin’s show trials. ‘Soviet mentality’A question puzzling many is why the formerly center-left Georgian Dream has made a sudden authoritarian pivot. Joining the EU would require cleaning up the country’s judiciary and giving up power if Georgian Dream is voted out on Saturday.

Nearly 10% of restaurant menus have "sweet and spicy" items, up 1.8% over the last 12 months, according to market research firm Datassential. Common menu items have paired fruity flavors and chili powder, or used sauces like hot honey and gochujang, a red chili paste that's a popular Korean condiment. Courtesy: StarbucksAlthough the menu items were largely only available for a limited time, culinary experts think that the swicy trend has staying power. Buzzy, trendy menu items are more important now to restaurants, which are leaning on both discounts and innovation to attract diners and reverse declining sales. Limited-time menu items are particularly attractive to Gen Z customers, a key demographic because they account for roughly a fifth of Americans.

Internal research accidentally revealed this week indicates TikTok knew its algorithm was harmful. Lawyers for children harmed by social media say the apps have long known they are hurting kids. According to NPR, TikTok's internal documents show officials at parent company ByteDance discussing internal studies that show the app can harm children. According to NPR, the unredacted internal documents show that TikTok touted its tools for limiting teens' screen time despite knowing from its own research that these features had "little impact." Matthew Bergman, a founding attorney of the Social Media Victims Law Center, which represents over 3,000 plaintiffs in cases of adolescents harmed by social media, told BI that the unsealed information is "certainly consistent with what we're seeing" across TikTok and other social media.

With a full harvest of colder-month produce in the grocery store, here is how you can fall in love with vegetables. The crispy outside is nice, but it is important to pair that with a tender inside when it comes to these winter vegetables, Chambers said. Caroline Chambers' Harissa Roasted Veggies demonstrates how you can add some flavor to your dishes once you have cooked your veggies right. Remove the roasted veggies from the oven and transfer to a cooling rack. Spread a nice spoonful of whipped feta over the bottom of a bowl or plate and top it with a pile of roasted veggies and a sprinkle of nuts.

Growing up in Nara, Japan, one food that was a constant in my home was tofu. I never bought any ultra-processed baby food; instead I opted for tofu. If I could only find shelf-stabilized packaged versions, I kept about two dozen of them in the house at any given time. In Japan, tofu is enjoyed by folks of all ages. They still live in Nara, and have tofu, natto (fermented soybeans) and miso soup every day.

"I always like to say that if you can make a salad, you can make fermented foods because they're on par in complexity," he said. Fortune Business Insights estimates the global probiotics market will be more than $94 billion by 2027, and a small jar of fermented foods from Whole Foods costs around $9. With the health benefits and value-for-money (not to mention the tastiness) that fermented foods provide, there's no reason not to give fermenting a go. SauerkrautTo make sauerkraut, you need cabbage, salt, and any seasonings of your choice, such as herbs and spices, Zilber said. When you add salt to cabbage, which contains lactic acid-producing bacteria, and lightly massage it, the juices start to release, creating a salty brine.

Here I am at an event about longevity at my local library, practicing Chado, the traditional Japanese tea ceremony for preparing matcha. Here are the eight foods I always keep in my kitchen and eat every day to live a longer and happier life. Since I was in high school, I have practiced Chado, the traditional Japanese tea ceremony for preparing green tea. For example, I'll throw kombu seaweed into miso soup with some dried mushrooms, or make a salad with seaweeds like wakame and hijiki. I use dried shiitake for overnight dashi (soup stock) with kombu seaweed, miso soup, dressings, vinegar, curry — basically everything.

For decades, one industry has sustained the small, remote Colombian village of Caño Cabra: cocaine. Later, they mix the leaves with gasoline and other chemicals to make chalky white bricks of coca paste. But two years ago, the villagers said, something alarming happened: The drug traffickers who buy the coca paste and turn it into cocaine stopped showing up. The same pattern was repeated again and again in communities across the country where coca is the only source of income. Colombia, the global nexus of the cocaine industry, where Pablo Escobar became the world’s best known criminal, and which still produces more of the drug than any other nation, is facing tectonic shifts as a result of domestic and global forces that are reshaping the drug industry.
