The interest rate outlook will come back into focus next week with key inflation data and Federal Reserve meeting minutes coming out ahead of Thanksgiving, as investors wrap up a major month for markets following President-elect Donald Trump's election victory. The October personal consumption expenditure (PCE) price index set to release Wednesday could dent already-dimming hopes for a December rate cut if it comes in hotter than expected. The inflation rate is expected to have increased 0.2% month over month and 2.3% year on year. Rosy expectations Even with the interest rate cut expectations coming in, investors are optimistic on the direction for stocks to close out the year and into 2025. Goldman Sachs' David Kostin this week said he expects the S & P 500 can end next year at 6,500.

The deal includes an agreement for Anthropic to use Amazon's AI chips more. The goal of all this money is mainly to get Amazon's AI chips to be used more often to train and run large language models. It's also going to help Amazon design future Trainium chips and contribute to building out an Amazon AI model development platform called AWS Neuron. The Information reported recently that Anthropic prefers to use Nvidia GPUs, rather than Amazon AI chips. In May, Bernstein analyst Stacy Rasgon told Business Insider he wasn't aware of any companies using Amazon chips at scale.

The S & P 500 has now seen seven consecutive weeks of inflows, keeping the post-election momentum intact. I want to use the S & P 500 SPDR Trust ETF (SPY) to hedge these gains and bet against the consensus of markets finishing the year on a high note. SPY YTD mountain SPDR S & P 500 ETF Trust, YTD Investors have rejoiced with expectations for a more business-friendly economy ahead following President Elect Donald Trump's victory in early November. My short-term view of a shallow repricing in the S & P 500 might come to fruition now that we have Nvidia's earnings in the rearview mirror. BEFORE MAKING ANY FINANCIAL DECISIONS, YOU SHOULD STRONGLY CONSIDER SEEKING ADVICE FROM YOUR OWN FINANCIAL OR INVESTMENT ADVISOR.

Investors shouldn't let a smaller-than-expected guidance beat overshadow tailwinds from Nvidia's looming Blackwell graphics processing unit rollout come January. Citi's Atif Malik lifted the firm's price target to $175 and opened a positive catalyst ahead of the consumer electronics show in January. Wells Fargo's Aaron Rakers moved to a $185 price target, reflecting 27% upside from Wednesday's close. Meanwhile, JPMorgan's Harlan Sur lifted his price target to $170 a share, saying that margins should improve toward the mid-70s range in the second half of 2025 as Nvidia streamlines costs. What's next for the stock Despite strong Blackwell expectations, some analysts warn of potential near-term volatility.

Investors are likely zooming in on the rate at which Nvidia is growing its numbers, compared with its past performance, not just whether it's surpassing expectations. CNBC's Jim Cramer on Thursday reiterated his longstanding belief in Nvidia and CEO Jensen Huang, saying that despite the concerns of some on Wall Street, demand for the artificial intelligence behemoth's products isn't slowing down. Nvidia posted earnings Wednesday that comfortably topped estimates. Nvidia has had a meteoric rise, with shares currently up more than 196% year-to-date, and the company has posted large earnings beats quarter after quarter. According to Cramer, supply isn't set to outpace demand. Some of Nvidia's biggest customers, like Microsoft , Meta , Amazon and Tesla will have to keep buying the products, he said.

CNBC Daily Open brings investors up to speed on everything they need to know, no matter where they are. Even though Nvidia's third-quarter revenue soared 94% on an annual basis, it's a slower pace than Nvidia's growth in the previous three quarters, when sales rose 122%, 262%, and 265%, respectively, as CNBC's Kif Leswing notes. The same goes for Nvidia's forward guidance: A growth of around 70% for current-quarter sales, compared with a year earlier. AdvertisementNvidia's revenue surged 94% year-over-year last quarter, driven by solid demand for its GPU chips. The historic growth is expected to continue, with analysts estimating more than $200 billion in revenue next year. The company reported revenue of $35.08 billion in the quarter, representing a 94% year-over-year surge and a 492% increase from its third quarter in fiscal year 2023. The massive breakout in Nvidia's revenue growth occurred shortly after OpenAi introduced ChatGPT in November 2022, which was during the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2023. If Nvidia can meet Wall Street's lofty growth expectations going forward, its stock price could extend its historic run.
