Kenneth Kimes Sr. pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, but Sante Kimes went to prison in 1985. When he or other people called for Kenneth Sr., Sante Kimes would say he was traveling, in the shower or had laryngitis, he said.

Beadle, who amassed 246,000 Instagram followers and nearly 60,000 YouTube followers, had recently posted videos showing off the power of a BMW M240. A caption for the video read: “It’s just a bmw.”In a video posted this week on YouTube, what appears to be the same purple BMW is seen racing from multiple angles. In one nighttime video, a group of men is seen blocking traffic on a highway and slicking the roadway to prepare for the race. It was not clear if the BMW in the social media posts was the same vehicle involved in the deadly crash.

Authorities on Tuesday announced they are investigating the death of a 1-month-old baby boy who was brought to a New York hospital over the summer for malnutrition as a homicide. Officers were called to the hospital and informed by staff that the baby was "unconscious and unresponsive," the New York City Police Department said in a statement. In an update Tuesday, police said the Office of Chief Medical Examiner deemed the death a homicide. The New York Times reported that the baby died of malnutrition. The New York City Administration for Children’s Services said state confidentiality laws prohibit it from sharing certain details.

New York officials released Monday forensic sketches and informational flyers about a possible new victim in the Gilgo Beach serial killings case, in an effort to identify them and get new leads in the roughly 20-year-old homicide. The remains of the victim, referred to as “Asian Doe,” were found in 2011 near the bodies of at least 10 others near Long Island, New York’s Gilgo Beach. Long Island architect Rex Heuermann, 61, was arrested last year in connection with the Gilgo Beach serial killings. Heuermann was initially charged with killing three women — Megan Waterman, Amber Costello and Melissa Barthelemy — and dumping their bodies near Gilgo Beach. A woman has been arrested and charged with a hate crime in connection with splattering red paint on the home of the Jewish director of the Brooklyn Museum earlier this summer. Taylor Pelton, 28, was charged Wednesday with criminal mischief as a hate crime in connection with the June attack, the New York City Police Department said. In the attack, red paint was splattered on the front facade and door of Brooklyn Museum director Anne Pasternak’s Brooklyn home. The Brooklyn Museum told NBC News Friday: "We are aware the District Attorney has filed criminal charges against an individual accused of participating in the June 12 vandalism at the homes of several Brooklyn Museum leaders. Two teenagers drowned while swimming off Coney Island in Brooklyn as a thunderstorm rolled into the area Friday evening, the second such fatal episode at a New York City beach in less than a month.
