The storm, already dropping snow over the Rockies Wednesday morning, is forecast to race east throughout today to the Midwest and Northeast through Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving Day will bring a mess of rain for the I-95 corridor from Florida to Maine, and accumulating snow for the interior Northeast and northern New England. The iconic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will go on rain or shine, as the Big Apple is forecast to see soaking rain with temperatures in the 40s. ☆ Lawsuit alleges that young dancers for Shen Yun Performing Arts have faced abuse

The lawsuit said Shen Yun has made hundreds of millions of dollars by exploiting young dancers it recruits from abroad, forcing them to work grueling hours and scaring them into thinking they’d face harm if they quit. According to the website, Shen Yun, along with Fei Tian Academy of the Arts and Fei Tian College — which were also named as defendants — were founded by followers of the Falun Gong faith. After the first year, she was paid $500 a month until she “graduated” from Fei Tian College in 2019, when her salary was raised to $1,000 a month, according to the lawsuit. The lawsuit said she contracted measles when she was 14 but was not permitted to see a doctor. Instead, the lawsuit said, she was told to meditate to feel better and was required to work while she recovered.

High elevation snow will bury areas from California’s Sierra Nevada to the Colorado Rockies while rain falls at lower elevations. Conditions will ease throughout the day for California and Nevada but sloppy weather will persist farther east, especially in Utah and Colorado. Dreary weather will extend from the Gulf Coast to the Northeast as the storm that formed late Wednesday pushes east. CNN —An American silver coin dating back to the 17th century, before the United States was founded, has sold for a record-breaking $2.52 million at auction, eight years after it was discovered in an old cabinet in Amsterdam. The threepence coin was struck in 1652 in Boston just weeks after the first mint in the then-British colony had opened, according to a statement released Monday by Stack’s Bowers Galleries, which handled the sale. This was a threepence coin, as shown by the Roman numerals on one side of it. A rare 1794 silver dollar believed to be one of the first – if not the first – made by the US mint sold for $10 million in 2013. Meanwhile, a rare 1933 “Double Eagle” coin, one of the last gold coins ever struck for circulation in the US, sold for $18.9 million in 2021.

When a man arrived at a New Hampshire animal shelter last week claiming he wanted to surrender 150 pet mice, the shelter was ready to take them in. But the problem soon became much more mouse-ive when he clarified that he had 150 tubs full of mice to surrender, not 150 individual rodents. The overwhelmed mouse owner initially brought 73 mice last Monday, the New Hampshire Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said in a Thursday news release. The shelter said they expect the number of mice to grow to nearly 1,000. These are pet mice, or "fancy mice," the shelter confirmed in the release.
