Jennifer Guilbeault, 23, was indicted on multiple hate crime charges on Monday after allegedly pepper-spraying a 45-year-old Uber driver while he began praying in Arabic, according to a press release from the prosecutor. “As alleged, Jennifer Guilbeault senselessly assaulted a Muslim Uber driver while he was just doing his job. Everyone is welcome to live and work in Manhattan,” said Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. CNN —Chris Brown’s history of violence is back in the spotlight with a new documentary focusing on years-old accusations against the singer, including his 2009 assault of Rihanna. The report prompted a police investigation that could have threatened Brown’s probation, but no charge was ever filed. In July 2013, Brown’s probation was revoked after he was accused of hit-and-run driving and driving without a license. It is produced with the global domestic violence initiative, No More, and is airing as part of the network’s “No Excuse for Abuse” campaign and commitment to domestic violence survivors. CNN —Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Michael Jeffries pleaded not guilty to a 16-count indictment at his arraignment in a New York federal court on Friday. Jacobson was employed by Jeffries and Smith to recruit, interview and hire men to perform commercial sex acts for Jeffries and Smith, according to the indictment. His attorneys did not comment as they left the courtroom, and Jeffries is due back in court on December 12. Jefferies stepped down as CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch in December 2014, having run the company since 1992. “As we shared when the accusations were first made public in October 2023, we are appalled and disgusted by the alleged behavior of Mr. Jeffries, whose employment with Abercrombie & Fitch Co. ended nearly ten years ago,” Abercrombie & Fitch said in a statement Wednesday.

Jeffries, 80, and James Jacobson, 71, are set to be arraigned in U.S. District Court in Long Island, New York, three days after being arrested on sex trafficking and interstate prostitution charges. Attorneys for both men confirmed to CNBC earlier Friday that their clients would enter not-guilty pleas. The graphic 16-count indictment unsealed Tuesday accuses Jeffries and his romantic partner Matthew Smith, 61, of operating an international sex trafficking enterprise over more than six years, most of which overlapped with Jeffries' tenure as CEO of Abercrombie.
