A convicted identity thief who admitted to posing as a nurse in Virginia nearly a decade ago is accused of impersonating nurses in at least two hospitals in Southern California this year, authorities said. Porter, who does not have a nursing license, was charged with identity theft, false impersonation and grand theft, the department said. Prior to her arrest in that case, the department said, Porter was in custody over similar allegations linked to a hospital in nearby Santa Clarita, California. During her first five shifts at the hospital, she was under the supervision of a training nurse, the facility said. The hospital added that Porter, who is not named in the hospital's statement, was under the supervision of a nurse and there was no indication of compromised care.

While some athletes celebrate their first big paycheck with a splurge — NFL star Travis Kelce dropped $10,000 on a limited-edition pair of sneakers, Shaquille O'Neal spent $150,000 on a Mercedes Benz — WNBA star Cameron Brink hasn't touched hers. Brinks says she's saved about 90% of her total earnings from her first year in the league, adding that the WNBA isn't the principal driver of her income. "I want to ensure that I'm setting myself up for a comfortable lifestyle down the line because I definitely don't want to be working forever." Brink, who in college signed an endorsement deal with New Balance to become the brand's first female basketball player, had an NIL valuation topping $200,000 while at Stanford University, Sports Illustrated reports. In a league where player salaries are still as low as they are, such sponsorships can make all the difference.

Out of the valid votes counted, 56% of workers voted “no,” while 44% voted “yes” for unionization, according to Mercedes-Benz. New York CNN —A high-stakes union election is underway at a Mercedes-Benz plant near Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the only plant for the luxury automaker in North America. The fallout will be significant whether the workers at Mercedes-Benz vote to join the United Auto Workers union or not. And last month, it won a union election at a Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee, its first victory in three attempts to organize the factory. Though a union win could generate momentum, it doesn’t mean a victory will mean other plants can overcome management opposition at other foreign-owned plants. Non-union automakers have already begun their response to the big union victories thus far.

A Tesla short-seller named two auto stocks that he believes have the potential to deliver 100% upside for investors. Lekander, who holds a short position in Tesla shares, has said the EV carmaker could "go bust" while its stock could fall to $14. His comments came after Tesla reported 386,810 vehicle deliveries in the first quarter, significantly below the lowest market estimates . Valuing AI in auto Lekander also dismissed the notion that Tesla's self-driving software justifies its high valuation, noting that the product is still in early research and development.
