CNN —The Chicago Bears kicked off Week 6’s Sunday action by moving to 4-2 as they defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 35-16 in London, England. The matchup was officially listed as a Bears home game, and it certainly had the atmosphere of one. Ian Walton/APWilliams and the Chicago offense struggled mightily to start the game, only mustering seven yards of offense in the first quarter. A series of defensive penalties helped Chicago move the chains with the drive culminating in another Williams TD pass to Allen to start the fourth quarter. The Jags scored again via another Lawrence to Davis touchdown pass but were unable to make any further inroads into the Bears lead.

Such is the fate of any old-school liberal or mainstream Democrat who deviates from progressive dogma. New York magazine’s liberal political columnist Jonathan Chait was accused of lending “legitimacy to a reactionary moral panic” for critiquing political correctness. But the goal and the effect is to narrow the focus of acceptable discourse by Democrats and their allies. Barbara Stauffacher Solomon, an audacious graphic designer, landscape architect and artist who first made a splash in the 1960s with the supersize, geometric architectural painting movement known as supergraphics, died on Tuesday at her home in San Francisco. Her daughter Nellie King Solomon confirmed the death. In 1962, Ms. Stauffacher Solomon was the rare woman to set up shop as a graphic designer in the Bay Area, working for clients like the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (now SFMOMA). It was architecture, however, that put Ms. Stauffacher Solomon on the national stage. In the early 1960s, an architect turned developer named Al Boeke envisioned a new community on a windswept bluff and former sheep ranch a few hours north of San Francisco.
