The red supergiant star, called WOH G64, is about 160,000 light-years from Earth in the Large Magellanic Cloud, which orbits the Milky Way.

Spain's Ministry of Consumer Rights on Friday slapped a $179 million euro ($186 million) fine on five low-budget airlines for "abusive practices" including charging additional cabin luggage fees. Spanish low-cost airline Vueling was ordered to pay 39.2 million euros and EasyJet was fined 29 million euros. Scandinavia's second-largest airline Norwegian and Spanish airline Volotea each received penalties in excess of 1 million euros. The five airlines should discontinue their practice of requiring additional payment for cabin luggage and reserving a seat near a dependent traveler, the ministry said. "We completely disagree with the decision of the Spanish Consumer Ministry and find the proposed sanctions outrageous," an EasyJet statement said, stressing it considers its cabin luggage policy to be aligned with all applicable laws.

A, B and C reveal views of the mummified Homotherium latidens specimen: A is a thumb claw; B a second digit claw; and С a plantar view. However, the mummy also showed that sabre-toothed cubs differed dramatically from modern lion cubs of a similar age, Lopatin said. Its coat was darker, and its ears were smaller than those of lion cubs; it had longer forelimbs, a larger mouth opening and a more massive neck. Its paw is also more circular than that of a lion cub; in fact, its shape more closely resembles the paw of a bear, Tseng added.

Calling all "Ice Age" lovers: The frozen remains of a 35,000-year-old saber-toothed cat have been studied for the first time in history, according to a study published Thursday in the journal Scientific Reports. A. shows the frozen mummy and B. shows Panthera leo (Linnaeus, 1758), a modern lion cub's remains. Its neck is also "longer and more than twice as thick" as the modern cub's. Bank of America sees Amazon' s discount storefront offering as a beneficial tool in fending off Temu and Shein. The e-commerce giant launched its Haul platform on the Amazon app, exclusively featuring products under $20. Bank of America analyst Justin Post said Temu and Shein's growth over the past year created a headwind of 1 percentage point for Amazon, according to an analysis of Bloomberg Second Measure data. Amazon's new offering comes as retailers have tried to compete with Temu and Shein, which are known for their low price tags. He said Amazon and these other companies could face obstacles if President-elect Donald Trump's proposed tariffs on imports come to fruition.
