A DOGE tax-filing app would represent a competitor for both H&R Block and TurboTax. It's unclear where a new DOGE tax app would bridge with newer policies the Biden administration already implemented. A firebrand legal adviser to the President-elect and a conservative lawyer under consideration for the post of Attorney General appear to be setting the stage for investigations and prosecution of Donald Trump’s legal adversaries, including Special Counsel Jack Smith and New York Attorney General Letitia James. The threats come as Trump campaign aides say that the president-elect considers his choice for attorney general to be his most important single appointment. CNN —A 13-year-old girl is the latest person to lose her life in New York City while “subway surfing,” a dangerous challenge attracting young people on social media. “Subway surfing,” involves riding on top of a subway car while its moving. Six subway surfing fatalities and 181 related arrests have been recorded this year through October 27, the New York Police Department told CNN on Tuesday. The 13-year-old died while participating in a social media challenge, his mother told WPIX, adding he’d posted to social media prior videos of himself doing the stunt and she’d warned him not to ride on top of trains. But a bipartisan group of attorneys general on Tuesday demanded that Congress require Surgeon General warning labels on social media apps to help curtail addiction and a mental health crisis among young adults. Teens spend nearly five hours a day on social media apps, according to a Gallup poll. “Everyone needs to know the risk associated with these social media platforms,” New York Attorney General Letitia James said in a statement. Appending a warning to social media apps requires Congressional approval. Congress has so far ignored Murthy’s plea to introduce a bill requiring warning labels.
