While job growth in the sector faces uncertainty after the election, industry watchers say the future of energy production and consumption is always changing. The IRA is projected to generate more than 300,000 jobs annually for new energy project construction and about 100,000 permanent jobs each year, according to EESI. The rate was more than double the growth for the rest of the energy sector and the overall U.S. economy, according to the newly released 2024 U.S. Energy and Employment Report. Recent data from the Department of Energy showed clean energy employment increased by 142,000 jobs last year, accounting for more than half of new energy sector jobs. One sector that faces particular uncertainty after the election is clean energy, which has received a boost from the Biden administration but faced skepticism from Trump.

CNN —Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark put in strong performances as the Indiana Fever continued its solid run with a 81-74 victory over the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday. The victory is Indiana’s second on the bounce and means it now has a 6-4 record in the last 10 games. It was the second game in a row where Mitchell, Clark, Boston and NaLyssa Smith all scored in double figures. Boston shoots the ball against Alanna Smith of the Minnesota Lynx in the first quarter.

One mom told AP about how she had delayed important care for her child because she believed Kennedy’s vaccine falsehoods. The AP found dozens of individuals included in the book died of known causes not related to vaccines, including suicide, choking while intoxicated, overdose and allergic reaction. Kennedy’s Children’s Health Defense produces articles, newsletters, books, podcasts, even TV shows on its own CHD.TV. And hack into that.”Because of his national profile, Kennedy’s work has ripple effects beyond the most devoted anti-vaccine activists. But people involved in the response who spoke to AP said Kennedy and the anti-vaccine activists he supported made things worse.

The mother of Quinton Simon, the 20-month-old Georgia toddler whose remains were found in a Savannah landfill last month, was indicted on murder charges on Wednesday, weeks after being arrested and charged in connection with his death. The false statements allegedly included repeated claims about what she had been doing during the hours around Quinton's alleged murder, the indictment states. Chatham County Police Dept. A spokesperson for the Chatham County District Attorney's office could not immediately be reached. Cook Jones told reporters Wednesday that that arrest is a "separate legal matter under investigation" and declined to elaborate.
Cooper's office, Moore County and Duke Energy, officials said Wednesday. At its peak, around 45,000 Moore County customers were left without power, Duke Energy said. Duke Energy said the vandalism destroyed large and vital pieces of equipment, which needed to be replaced. The restoration of power led officials on Wednesday to announce that the curfew will be lifted at 5 a.m. Thursday. There have been no confirmed deaths due to the power outage, Moore County Director of Public Safety Bryan Phillips said.
The Atlanta division of the FBI has identified remains found in a Georgia landfill as those of toddler Quinton Simon, bringing an end to the weeks-long search for the child that garnered national attention. The Chatham County District Attorney’s Office is continuing to investigate the case against the toddler's mother, the FBI said. Quinton Simon. Simon reported Quinton missing Oct. 5 from his home in an unincorporated part of the county near Savannah, police have said. On Oct. 12 Chatham County police announced they believed Quinton was dead and named his mother as the primary suspect.
The mother of a 20-month-old child who Georgia authorities believe is dead has been arrested and accused of murder, police said Monday. In October, Leilani Simon, 22, was named by Chatham County as the “prime suspect" in what police said was the disappearance and death of her son, Quinton Simon. Leilani Simon reported the toddler missing from his home in an unincorporated part of the county near Savannah on Oct. 5, police have said. The mother reported him missing at 9:39 a.m., he said. After Simon was named as the suspect, Hadley said there were no other suspects and no one else was being considered for criminal charges.
The grandfather of missing Georgia toddler Quinton Simon was killed after he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, deputies said. Quinton Simon. Chatham County Police Department"Preliminary investigation indicates the male was struck while in the roadway by an unknown vehicle," Burke County Sheriff's Office Capt. Moss is the paternal grandfather of Quinton, the 20-month-old toddler who was reported missing on Oct. 5 by his mother, Leilani Simon. Police later said they believe Quinton was dead after they spent more than a week searching the house and surrounding area.
Chatham County Police Dept. The update came just over two weeks after Chatham County Police Chief Jeff Hadley said investigators had “every belief” they would find Simon's remains at the landfill. "The landfill search has been a task more grueling (than) anyone could imagine," police added. The search for the missing toddler began on Oct. 5 when his mother, Leilani Simon, called 911 and said the boy had gone missing from his playpen. The effort to find her son has marked the "largest search and most far-reaching investigation in the history of the Chatham County Police Department," authorities said.
