My dad became a father to me and my twin brother when he was 54. But it had been a long time — my sister is 24 years older than me, and my brother is 26 years older than me. I had a different experience with my dad than my older siblings didBy virtue of the age difference, we were never destined to be as close to them as most siblings are. My parents have had a turbulent relationship with my older siblings, and boundaries were occasionally put in place when it came to communication.
