Chappell Roan went from the “Pink Pony Club” to the country club on “Saturday Night Live,” surprising fans by going country in both look and sound for her second number of the show, the premiere of a brand new song, “The Giver,” that marries C&W with LGBTQ. “I get the job done,” Roan sang in the refrain of the new song, which shares a theme with “Femininomenon” in making the argument that pleasing a woman is sometimes (or always?) “All you country boys saying you know how to threat a woman right,” Roan said during a spoken word aside in the song — “Well, only a woman knows how to treat a woman right. Munn has advocated for people to calculate their breast cancer risk score, which helped lead to her diagnosis early last year. CNN —Taylor Swift won the album of the year Grammy on Sunday for her 2022 album “Midnights,” becoming the artist with the most wins in the coveted category with four. Prior to her win of the coveted award, Swift was tied with Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon, who along with her all previously won album of the year three times. She also thanked singer Lana Del Rey, who collaborated with Swift on “Snow on the Beach” off the album. THE NOMINEESSZA is the lead contender with nine nominations, followed closely by Victoria Monét and Phoebe Bridgers with seven. If Victoria Monét 's “Hollywood” wins best traditional R&B performance, her 2-year-old daughter Hazel will become the youngest Grammy winner. Videos on TikTok began to go silent early Thursday, after combative licensing negotiations broke down this week between the popular social media platform and Universal Music Group, the giant company that releases music by Taylor Swift, Drake, U2, Ariana Grande and many other stars whose songs have been key to TikTok’s rapid growth around the world. On Tuesday, a day before its licensing contract with TikTok was set to expire, Universal published a fiery open letter accusing TikTok of offering unsatisfactory payment for music, and of allowing its platform to be “flooded with A.I.-generated recordings” that diluted the royalty pool for real, human musicians. TikTok confirmed early Thursday that it had removed music from Universal, and videos on the app began to show the effects of the broken partnership. Recordings by Universal artists were deleted from TikTok’s library, and existing videos that had used music from Universal’s artists had their audio muted entirely. Universal songs were also unavailable for users to add to new videos.
