REUTERS/Kamil Krzaczynski/File Photo(Reuters) -Walmart corporate staff are getting new titles and pay packages in the coming weeks to manage labor costs and simplify the structure of the company’s workforce, the Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday. Starting in November, many corporate workers at Walmart and Sam’s Club, its warehouse chain, will be reclassified into fewer groups of possible titles and pay. Base pay and total bonus benefits won’t fall for any workers. Around 4%, or 2,000, will receive an eventual reduction in stock-option awards as part of the change, the report added. Earlier this month, Walmart changed the hourly starting wage structure for entry-level store workers.

REUTERS/Kamil Krzaczynski/File Photo(Reuters) -Walmart on Saturday said that it will streamline job titles across its corporate staff, to ensure that it remains competitive. While some staff will receive a new job title, their roles, responsibilities, type of work and base pay will not change, the retailer said. Corporate employees at Walmart and Sam’s Club, its warehouse chain, will be reclassified into fewer groups of possible titles and in some cases, pay changes will go into effect, starting in November. About 4% of the staff will see a decrease in stock-option awards to ensure compensation is aligned across geographies, Walmart said. Staff who will see a reduction in stock options will receive a stock grant to account for the change.

Walmart employees across the US will soon have access to dozens of fertility clinics. Fertility benefits are becoming a weapon in the war for talent, Fortune recently reported. In a Fortune poll, 45% of workers said fertility benefits are an important component when considering a new job. A fertility survey conducted by Carrot, a global fertility healthcare company, found that millennial and Generation Z employees value fertility benefits: 77% of respondents said that they would stay at a company if it offered fertility benefits, and a large majority of them said they would even consider changing jobs for better benefits. Mercer also has found that DEI values are a key motivation in expanding fertility benefits.
