One option would be to take out Iran's nuclear sites — something Biden opposes. A hit on Iran's nuclear facilities could, however, create far graver consequences, potentially including a race by Iran to build a nuclear weapon. AdvertisementUS President Joe Biden would not support Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in targeting nuclear sites. As The Financial Times noted, there are more than a thousand miles between Israel and Iran's main nuclear bases. And Iran's nuclear sites present a formidable target, sprawling across various sites, with several of the most sensitive located in heavily fortified underground bunkers.

Released Palestinian prisoners arrive to Beitunia, west of Ramallah, with International Red Cross vehicles under the agreement on the four-day humanitarian pause in Ramallah, West Bank on November 24. In videos obtained by CNN, the released prisoners can be seen paraded through the streets, carried on people’s shoulders as crowds wave the Palestinian flag, as well as that of Hamas. What they were imprisoned for: There are few more sensitive issues for Palestinians in the occupied territories than the issue of prisoners held in Israeli jails. Aseel El-Titi, a 23-year-old prisoner released on Friday, told CNN she had only found out that morning she was being released. The number of martyrs in Gaza has become greater than the number of prisoners [in Israeli jails],” El-Titi said.

Thirty-nine Palestinian teenagers and women were also released from Israeli prisons, per the terms of the exchange, on Saturday. Israeli security forces regularly raid Palestinian cities such as Jenin, Nablus and Jericho, but an incursion into Ramallah on this scale is extremely unusual. The official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported more than 100 Israeli military vehicles were involved in the incursion, calling it an all-night raid. Among the wounded was a photojournalist for Al-Arabi TV, Moumen Sumrin, who was hit in the head with a rubber bullet. Palestinians inspect the site where Israeli forces demolished the house of Islam Faroukh, who was accused of carrying out two bombings in November. No IDF troops were injured, the military said.
