New York prosecutors told the judge who presided over Donald Trump's hush money trial on Tuesday that his sentencing should be postponed while the president-elect's lawyers file further legal arguments asking the case be dismissed. The proposal Tuesday from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office would need to be signed off on by Judge Juan Merchan to become official. A ruling against Trump on the issue would have paved the way for the judge to proceed with his sentencing, which was tentatively scheduled for Nov. 26. That case has been paused while Trump and some of his co-defendants seek to have an appeals court remove Willis from the case for an alleged conflict of interest. Trump's lawyers have contended that even if she’s allowed to remain on the case, any Trump trial would have to wait until he’s out of office in 2029 because of constitutional issues.

But the decline in support for Ms. Harris in some of the country’s most liberal areas is particularly notable. For example, in Fulton County, which contains most of Atlanta, Ms. Harris gained about 4,500 votes, but Mr. Trump gained more than 7,400. A Georgia appeals court on Monday canceled until further notice oral arguments on an effort by President-elect Donald Trump and other co-defendants to remove Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from the criminal election interference prosecution against them. The Georgia Court of Appeals acted on its own in canceling the arguments scheduled for Dec. 5. Trump and other defendants had appealed that ruling, and the Court of Appeals in June halted proceedings in the case pending the outcome of that effort. Circuit Court of Appeals to suspend proceedings in that case, citing Trump's election victory. That federal appeals court granted Smith's request.

CNN —The Supreme Court declined Tuesday to let Mark Meadows move his Georgia election subversion case to federal court, effectively barring the former chief of staff during Donald Trump’s first term from claiming immunity from those charges. Meadows wanted to have his case heard in federal – rather than state – court, where he would be able to raise immunity claims. The Atlanta-based 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals ruled last year that the Georgia prosecution against Meadows should continue in state court, concluding that former federal officials are not covered by that statute “removing” state cases against government officials to federal court. The Georgia case has been at a standstill while an appeals court considers ethics allegations against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. Hoax bomb threats targeting polling places and election offices briefly disrupted voting in five battleground states, with the FBI saying the threats in four of those states came from Russian email domains. “The FBI is aware of bomb threats to polling locations in several states, many of which appear to originate from Russian email domains,” the FBI said in a statement Tuesday night. German officials accused Russia of orchestrating bomb threats against several polling places in Moldova’s presidential elections last week. Bomb threats were reported across five key battleground states, both to polling places and government offices where votes are counted. The FBI, which engaged with local and state officials, confirmed that some of the threats originated from Russian email domains. “There were no major issues across the state” in the election process, said Nevada Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar. Voters who need to cure ballots with signature issues have until November 12 to do so, according to state election rules. CNN —Several non-credible bomb threats that briefly disrupted voting at two Georgia polling places originated from Russia, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger told reporters Tuesday. “Anything that can get us to fight amongst ourselves - they can count that as a victory.”Raffensperger, a Republican, did not elaborate on how exactly state officials determined the bomb threats came from Russia. The non-credible threats caused the temporary closure of polling places at the Etris Community Center and Gullatt Elementary in Union City, just outside of Atlanta, according to Fulton County Police. An officer told him and other voters they couldn’t enter the site to vote because of a bomb threat. “They had to remove all the workers, they couldn’t let anyone in until they assessed the threats,” said Osborne.
