A man who went missing for 25 years was reunited with his family after a friend spotted him in a newspaper report on missing people, police said Tuesday. The article was headlined "He's been in an LA hospital for weeks and they have no idea who he is. A detective from LAPD's Missing Persons Unit came to the hospital and fingerprinted the man, confirming he was the same person who went missing in 1999. The University of Mobile is mourning the sudden death of freshman basketball player Kaiden Francis this week. Francis, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, collapsed on campus Tuesday morning and died, university President Charles Smith said in a letter to students and faculty. "Yesterday morning Kaiden Francis, freshman point guard from Fort Lauderdale unexpectedly passed away after doing what he loved to do, working on his craft in the gym," Archey wrote. Pope Francis on Wednesday announced April plans to canonize a teenage web designer who documented miracles online and used his tech skills to maintain web sites for local Catholic organizations. Acutis, who was born to Italian parents in London, was a web designer who died of leukemia in Italy in 2006 at the age of 15. Pennsylvania resident Naomi Whitehead, 114, was recently crowned the oldest living American. She earned the title as the oldest living person in America following the death of 115-year-old Elizabeth Francis last month. Whitehead grew up on a farm, and "picked cotton and tobacco," she told New Castle News last year. Though regular exercise wasn't ever important to Whitehead, her daily strenuous physical activity was "plowing in the field," she told YouTuber Jack Gordon in an interview. Whitehead's responses to Gordon's questions were typically just a few words, but she was still able to recite an extended bible verse at age 114.

He pleaded guilty in 2015, admitting that he had offered more than $500,000 in cash bribes to Navy officials, defense contractors and others. While awaiting sentencing, Francis was hospitalized and treated for renal cancer and other medical issues. The felony convictions of four former Navy officers were vacated following allegations of prosecutorial misconduct.
