The partnership with Siemens will help Intel operate the factory more efficiently, Esfarjani said.
EUV, an energy-hungry technology, is so central to advanced chipmaking that significant parts of the manufacturing process revolve around it.
The partnership with Intel will help Siemens deepen its understanding of this type of manufacturing where one technology is so core to the process and help it transfer that know-how to other industries.
In that case, Siemens assisted with its transition to manufacturing electric vehicles from combustion engines.
