One of the most iconic catches in NFL history — a play that would change Odell Beckham Jr.’s life — started with a misunderstanding and a poor route. Odell Beckham Jr. catches a one-handed touchdown and it is arguably one of the most iconic catches in NFL history. The two would spend hours outside their college dorm, throwing footballs to each other and practicing one-handed catches. When it did, Beckham told his teammate that the catch “changed his life.”Zay Flowers' locker is right next to Odell Beckham Jr.'s in the Ravens locker room. The family of a 30-year-old Hawaii resident is searching for her in Los Angeles after she missed a connecting flight, sent unusual text messages and then went silent, the relatives said. The next day, she sent concerning text messages to loved ones, family members said. The three were part of a larger group of family members and loved ones who gathered in Los Angeles in recent days to launch a search effort. Family members said they couldn't speak about it in detail because they don't want to hinder investigators. The group gathered in Los Angeles is focusing its own search on the intersection of Pico Boulevard and Hill Street, near the Convention Center, LA Live and Crypto Arena, family members said.

Police stand guard outside the West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts building before the sentencing against the 45 convicted pro-democracy activists charged under the national security law, in Hong Kong, China November 19, 2024. Hong Kong's High Court on Tuesday jailed 45 pro-democracy activists for up to 10 years following a landmark national security trial that has damaged the city's once feisty democracy movement and drawn criticism from the U.S. and other countries. A total of 47 pro-democracy activists were arrested and charged in 2021 with conspiracy to commit subversion under a Beijing-imposed national security law and had faced sentences of up to life in prison. The Chinese and Hong Kong governments say the national security laws were necessary to restore order after mass pro-democracy protests in 2019, and the democrats have been treated in accordance with local laws. Australia's Foreign Minister Penny Wong said she was "gravely concerned" about the sentence, and called on China to "cease suppression of freedoms of expression, assembly, media and civil society," in Hong Kong.

The couple raised their two daughters in five cities across four continents before deciding to settle in Minnesota. AdvertisementIn Minnesota, new kids rarely show up, and when they do, they're usually coming from nearby. My family moved to Minnesota in July, and it's taking time for my two daughters and me to settle down. Over the next 10 years, we had two daughters, moved five times, and lived in five cities across four continents. We are proud that our kids started their lives as global citizens and hope to continue their experience by enjoying family vacations once we have our feet firmly on the ground.

What we learned from the 2024 World Series

You’re the winner, friend, because you’ve learned something about baseball during the World Series. The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees in the 2024 World Series, four games to one. They might have played the sloppiest inning in World Series history, if not the sloppiest game in World Series history. It was certainly the sloppiest game from a World Series team facing elimination, and I’m not fact-checking that. The World Series was promoted like “Godzilla vs. Kong,” except one of the monsters got hurt before he could do anything.

The Dodgers got their looks against the Yankees in this series, even if there were times when they struggled to capitalize. It took the Yankees fumbling on defense in the fifth inning just to allow the Dodgers back into Game 5. The previous time came in the 1956 World Series when the Yankees blew a five-run lead against the Brooklyn Dodgers in Game 2. The downside of the Dodgers’ bullpen game in Game 4The Dodgers’ handling of Game 4 was not illogical in a vacuum. They had a 3-0 lead series lead.

An eighth-inning rally capped by sacrifice flies by second baseman Gavin Lux and outfielder Mookie Betts put the Dodgers in front. This title, the eighth in franchise history, can stand beside the Dodgers’ trophy from the pandemic-shortened season in 2020. The precedent feels preposterous until you consider the current Dodgers who will one day join them in the Hall of Fame. “Mark,” he told Freeman, “wants to win really bad.” That desire became clear to Ohtani when he met with the Dodgers. After Freeman launched his grand, Gibsonian walkoff in Game 1 against the Yankees, the Dodgers got the job done.
