But based on the information collected, it’s safe to say that NFL teams go through anywhere from 3,600 to 4,300 Uncrustables a week. When you factor in training camps and the teams that did not share their data, NFL teams easily go through at least 80,000 Uncrustables a year. Sometime in the mid-90s, Len said, his wife, Emily, suggested he create a mass-produced peanut butter and jelly sandwich without the crust. That was our gee-whiz moment.”We’re not recreating the atomic bomb here... we’re trying to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Squished, unsquished, you’re gonna crush it.”They are now a staple for many NFL teams.

Between the time it takes to process mail ballots and deal with provisional ballots in some battleground states, votes will not be fully tabulated on election night. Projections of who won a close presidential race might not come for days, similar to the 2020 election. The sources all noted they did not have direct knowledge that this was a formal Trump campaign plan. The Trump campaign did not respond to a request seeking comment. In 2020, Trump quickly proclaimed victory on election night, even though he ultimately ended up losing to Joe Biden.

My British family pronounces it "ah-mee-tah," and my Indian family pronounces it "ah-mee-tha." I'm comfortable with either of those pronunciations, but many Americans pronounce it as "uh-mee-duh," which I really dislike. Saying my name with the "duh" sound may not sound wrong to some, but I feel that it makes my name sound clunky and old-school. It's helped me learn to advocate for myself and be aware of whether I'm saying other's names correctly. It's taught me that the people in my life who take the time to pronounce it right — and correct others — are the ones who matter most.

“It’s not defensible.”Yet, even as he seeks to keep the spotlight on Biden’s debate shortcomings, Trump is also entering a critical three-week stretch full of potential race-defining moments that could further alter the stakes of the election. The Republican convention in Milwaukee will kick off a mere four days later. Leveraging these moments presents opportunities for Trump to seize media coverage beyond the debate and further bolster his campaign coffers. Before the debate had even ended, Trump’s campaign sent supporters a text message declaring he had “obliterated” Biden along with a link to purchase new apparel. “I’ve always been of the opinion that this decision would come before the convention,” one Trump ally said.

That's certainly true of her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," which arrived last Friday to mixed reviews. New Taylor Swift music is bound to spark widespread debate, but the conversation swelled when she surprise-released "The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology," a deluxe edition with 15 extra songs. Indeed, most of these deluxe tracks succeed as self-contained stories, recalling the mythic peaks of "Folklore" and "Evermore." Then again, more songs equals more streams, and "The Tortured Poets Department" is on target to become one of the most-played albums of the streaming era. But, Japanese authorities could find propping up their currency both difficult to achieve and hard to justify. To make even a ripple in the $5 trillion currency market, the BOJ would need to draw down massive amounts of dollar reserves. Wakabayashi, like many other analysts and investors, considers the 150 yen per dollar level a red line for currency intervention, not least because of its significance as a symbol of climbing costs of living from imported food and fuel. INTERVENTION IMMINENTThe yen careened to a 32-year trough at 151.94 last October before being reined in by several bouts of heavy intervention, the first by Japanese authorities in a generation. Measures of expected market volatility remain subdued.

The logo of Mercedes-Benz is seen outside a Mercedes-Benz car dealer in Brussels, Belgium June 1, 2023. In the letter published on DUH's website, the KBA referred to three devices found in cars produced under the Euro 6 standard, the most recent and stringent limits for harmful tailpipe emissions from petrol or diesel-powered vehicles. Mercedes-Benz was obliged to take remedial measures or face an order to remove the cars from the road, it said, based on a ruling by the European Court of Justice that deemed such devices illegal in certain driving conditions. In a statement, Mercedes-Benz said it was co-operating fully with the KBA and that it believed it had already developed the technology required to tackle the issue via software updates. Or are the stocks that are now hated going to turn out to be precursors of the next downturn? Of all the techs I follow, I think ServiceNow probably had the best quarter. We know what to pay when we think a stock is going up, which is the going price. Next thing you know that stock is down to $143 and you say to yourself, should I buy it back? In that case, you need to sell stocks pretty aggressively until we get oversold, raising cash to 10% like us.

CNN —Social media is awash with memes and GIFs and, at times, ‘edginess,’ but it can be a difficult balancing act as the official Paralympics TikTok account is discovering. German green group sues Meta alleging failure to curb threats
  + stars: | 2023-03-22 | by ( ) www.reuters.com   time to read: +1 min
March 22 (Reuters) - A prominent German environmental group said on Wednesday it is suing Facebook's parent company Meta (META.O), accusing the social media firm of failing to clamp down on insults and threats of violence and murder. Environmental Action Germany (DUH) said in a statement that Meta had failed to shut down Facebook groups in which threats of violence were regularly posted and sometimes remained visible for weeks without being taken down. "We no longer accept the persecution and threats in such social media groups," said DUH chief Juergen Resch. A German court last year ruled against a law obliging social media firms to block or delete criminal content and report serious offences to the police, handing a partial victory to complainants Google (GOOGL.O) and Meta. FILE PHOTO: A Volkswagen logo is pictured in a production line at the Volkswagen plant in Wolfsburg, Germany March 1, 2019. The NGO, Deutsche Umwelthilfe, is calling for Volkswagen Golf vehicles to be recalled because of software manipulation to emissions mechanisms, alleging the KBA authority should never have allowed these vehicles to be released to the market. “The case was effectively successful,” a court spokesperson said, meaning the decision by the authority to release the vehicles must be revoked. Volkswagen said in a statement it would wait to receive the full reasoning of the court to decide on next steps. The ruling concerns software Volkswagen installed to control the recirculation of exhaust gases, which EU courts have said is illegal in certain conditions but Volkswagen views as in line with the law.

BRAUNSCHWEIG, Germany, Jan 10 (Reuters) - A case led by Greenpeace against Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE) demanding that the automaker tighten its carbon reduction targets is admissible but unlikely to succeed, a German district court said on Tuesday, with a further hearing scheduled for Jan 31. However, the Braunschweig court said it was not clear whether the German ruling was applicable in a case between private entities. The peculiarity here is that this is a case of a private individual against a privately acting company... the lawsuit is unlikely to succeed," said Bastian Willers, spokesperson for the Braunschweig court. The NGO has appealed the ruling, which Greenpeace lawyer Roda Verheyen said her clients will also do if the court dismisses their case later this month. Another case by DUH against BMW in Munich is ongoing, with the next hearing scheduled for February 7.
It's called a subscription audit, and it's saving me more than $200 per month going into 2023. And nearly 90% of those surveyed underestimated the total cost of their subscriptions, often by hundreds of dollars. I'm no exception, as underused subscriptions seem to accumulate such as barnacles on my balance sheet throughout the year. But with my annual end-of-year subscription audit, I shaved $209 off my monthly budget by canceling or reducing subscriptions. Alternatively, you can save money by switching to a cheaper plan with fewer services, as I did with my Adobe Creative Cloud membership.
Heartwarming in the worst way, CNN’s “’Tis the Season: The Holidays on Screen” is based on the very reasonable proposition that movies and TV are to the holidays what nutmeg (and bourbon) are to the eggnog. But its two-hour tour of the yuletide movie catalog is a bit like a two-hour tour of one’s own living room. Is anyone not aware that “Die Hard” is a Christmas movie? “’Tis the Season” will be a terrific special, if your sleigh just pulled in from Vladivostok. Everything is addressed, from the classics to the new and forgettable, and everything addressed is wonderful.

Graceless under pressureTo see how the pandemic affected us, researchers looked at the so-called Big Five personality traits: agreeableness, conscientiousness, extraversion, neuroticism, and openness. But the new study found a surprising shift during the pandemic — roughly equivalent to what they'd expect from 10 years of life, not two. During the first months of the pandemic, Sutin's team found little personality change. "The only thing that went wrong," says Brent Roberts, a psychologist and expert in personality change at the University of Illinois, "is the goddamn pandemic kept going." For some Americans, the most stressful thing about the pandemic was experts telling them they should help people they don't like.
