“They made themselves nuclear,” Howard Lutnick, the co-chair of Trump’s transition and his nominee to serve as Commerce Secretary, told CNBC in September. But with the campaign over, Trump’s transition team is turning to Project 2025 to help staff the next administration. Both Homan and Ratcliffe were listed as contributors to Project 2025, while Carr authored a chapter on the FCC. Brendan Carr, a contributor to Project 2025, is Trump's pick to lead the Federal Communications Commission. For instance, the Project 2025 policy blueprint and Trump’s “Agenda 47” featured similar ideas on mass deportations and slashing the federal bureaucracy.

It does not make New York stop dead like Buenos Aires does when River Plate plays Boca Juniors. It does not even match the historical enmity of Islanders-Rangers hockey at Madison Square Garden. But the New York City Football Club and the New York Red Bulls will meet in a playoff match for the first time on Saturday, and their fans — and Major League Soccer — can dream. “In due time this will be considered one of the great rivalries in the metro New York area. White also used his connections to leverage appearances for Trump on friendly, right-leaning podcasts with millions of young listeners. White was upfront about his motivation in connecting Trump with so-called manosphere or bro-casters, saying the move was intended to tap into young voters. “You’re getting conversations in these podcasts, and you yourself, as a young kid, get to really see who Donald Trump is,” White told The New Yorker. Still, even as the UFC boss backs away from future political campaigns, he remains firmly in Trump’s corner as he returns to the White House. “Donald Trump is tougher and more badass than anybody,” White told The New Yorker.

Legendary Chicago Bulls forward Bob Love, one of the first stars the team had, has died at the age of 81 after a battle with cancer. Love spent the bulk of his NBA career with the Bulls, then spent decades as a team ambassador in a variety of roles after his playing career ended. “Bob was a true legend and a beloved member of our family,” the Bulls said in a statement. The narrative from Silicon Valley is that the AI train has left the station and any smart investor had better hop on before these products become “superintelligent” and start solving all the world’s problems. Now, some of the leading language models appear to be hitting a wall, according to at least three reports last week. But if we have indeed hit a scaling wall, “it may mean that the the mega-cap technology companies have over-invested” and it’s possible that they could scale back in the near future. That’s the AI optimist/pragmatist view. For a less rosy outlook, I turned to Gary Marcus, NYU professor emeritus and outspoken critic of AI hype.

Anne Hathaway was almost crashed into by New York Knicks player OG Anunoby at Wednesday's NBA matchup at Madison Square Garden, but rather than being near-death experience for the movie star, she called it a "bucket-list moment." The Oscar-winning actor and her son Jack were attending the New York Knicks vs. Chicago Bulls game when the British player charged in their direction while chasing the ball, colliding with a courtside barrier right next to the pair. To Hathaway's credit, she barely flinched, and was even photographed with an outstretched hand, seemingly attempting to catch the ball herself. Even though some snacks were spilled and her son's jaw dropped in shock, she ended her video smiling and thanking Anunoby. The Knick's lost out by a point, with the final score of the night being 124-123 for the Bulls.

CNN —The Cleveland Cavaliers became just the eighth team in NBA history to start a season 12-0 after earning a hard fought 119-113 win over the Chicago Bulls on Monday night. The Bulls managed to tie the scores at 106-106, but Cleveland outscored its opponent down the stretch to cement its place in an exclusive NBA group. It’s the best start to an NBA season since the record-breaking 2015-16 Golden State Warriors, who set league records with a 24-0 start and a 73-9 campaign. Five of the last seven teams to start the season 12-0 have gone on to reach the NBA Finals, according to ESPN. The Cavaliers’ 9-0 start to the season was already the best in franchise history.

Shares of Tesla are set to soar under a second Trump presidency, according to widely followed analyst Dan Ives of Wedbush. Ives reiterated his outperform rating and hiked his 12-month price target for the electric vehicle manufacturer to $400 from $300. A Trump win will further clear the federal regulatory spiderweb that Tesla has encountered over the past few years. A Trump win also means a more bearish outlook for the overall electric vehicle industry, since it is more likely that rebates and tax incentives will be pulled. TSLA YTD mountain TSLA YTD chart
