The leader of a well-to-do neighborhood association told me that the way Ms. Harris got nominated resembled “entrapment.” And, at a street fair, I chatted with Tamika Daniels, an activist who was working to register formerly incarcerated people to vote. Ms. Daniels expressed skepticism about Ms. Harris because the vice president had once been a prosecutor. There was no sign of such skepticism at the Harris rally near the Detroit airport last Wednesday, where roughly 15,000 excited people waited hours to see her. If the Harris campaign is unable to address this thorny issue in a way that feels like substance, then Democrats may not get the unity they’ll need to win in November.

Pictures on social media show an Austrian Airlines jet lost its right horizontal stabilizer. A local aviation news site reported the ground crew didn't park the jet properly and it rolled away. Austrian Airlines A320-271N substantially damaged on the ground at Vienna Airport after reportedly colliding with a jet bridge. After the plane arrived at Vienna Airport on Saturday night, it was towed to a parking position. But a member of the ground crew forgot to place the wheel chocks and may not have activated the parking brake, the report said.

CNN —It is hard to imagine any world leader wanting to share the foreign policy swamp in which the beleaguered Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, currently finds himself. Nijjar led a group pushing for the creation of an independent Sikh homeland in northern India called Khalistan. The Biden administration can’t be blamed for prioritizing its ongoing bromance with India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the bilateral relationship with Ottawa. A cynic might say that prematurely publicizing the explosive findings against India is a diversion tactic to steer attention away from the China interference file and the domestic issues piling up. The French automotive giant says it's targeting carbon neutrality in Europe by 2040 and globally by 2050. The Renault Group is working with French utility Engie on the development of a geothermal energy project at the automaker's Douai facility, with the collaboration set to last 15 years. The plan centers around taking hot water from a depth of 4,000 meters, or more than 13,100 feet. According to Renault, this water will be used to help meet the Douai site's "industrial and heating process needs from 2025." "In summer, when the need for heat is lower, geothermal energy could be used to produce carbon-free electricity," it added.
