MSNBC tapped former CNN anchor Ana Cabrera to host its 10 a.m. hour, as the news channel reshapes its daytime lineup to focus on straight-news reporting instead of opinion and analysis. Ms. Cabrera’s new show, “Ana Cabrera Reports,” will debut April 10, the network said Wednesday, filling what was an open time slot. Ms. Cabrera previously worked at CNN as an anchor and national correspondent. She left late last year after nearly a decade at the network.

Many of the arriving migrants have told reporters they're from Nicaragua. El Paso Times reporter Lauren Villagran told CNN on Wednesday that she spoke with Nicaraguan migrants waiting outside in frigid temperatures. Deputy City Manager Mario D'Agostino told reporters in recent days about 2,500 migrants have crossed the border daily, noting that the situation is different than past surges of migrants across the border.
