Doha, Qatar CNN —For 12 seasons, Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes penned one of the most fabled stories in the history of Formula One. Hamilton will embark on an intriguing chapter with Ferrari, while Mercedes will begin a new era spearheaded by George Russell. We’ve gone through so many highs and lows together,” Hamilton told CNN Sport in Qatar in a US and UK exclusive interview ahead of this weekend’s Grand Prix there, the penultimate race of his Mercedes career. A superb showing in Las Vegas helped lift the mood on a frustrating year for Hamilton and Mercedes. Hamilton was put through the same training used to prepare the Inspiration4 and Polaris Dawn crews for commercial spaceflight missions.

Steven Witkoff, the billionaire New York real estate executive whom President-elect Donald J. Trump has named as his special envoy to the Middle East, was in a jam. But there was a two-part rescue of sorts from the kind of real estate angels that New York property investors have increasingly turned to. First, Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth fund expanded its stake in the troubled hotel, Park Lane, which sits at the southern edge of Central Park. Then, in an even more crucial move, the Qatar Investment Authority last year dispatched $623 million as a leveraged buyout of Mr. Witkoff and his partners. The transactions — involving two oil-rich sovereign wealth funds from the Middle East — are a hint of the enormous flow of dollars pouring into U.S. real estate firms from entities associated with countries like Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Whoever wins the 2024 U.S. election should work to preserve America's energy dominance rather than risk losing it, TotalEnergies CEO Patrick Pouyanne told CNBC on Monday. The U.S. is the world's largest oil producer, accounting for 22% of the global total, according to the Energy Information Administration, with Saudi Arabia next, producing 11%. The vast majority of U.S. crude is consumed within the country, which is also the world's largest oil consumer. Roughly 64% of total U.S. crude oil production is shale and the French international energy firm CEO said the U.S. will also soon be No. Looking ahead to the election, former President Donald Trump and the Republican party have long been proponents of U.S. shale production, pushing for deregulation of the industry and an expansion of drilling projects — drawing the ire of climate activists and many on the left.

Reliance Industries' boss Ambani hasn't updated his IPO timelines after saying in 2019 that Reliance Jio and Reliance Retail would "move towards" a listing within five years. Reliance Jio is set to lock horns with Elon Musk if he launches his Starlink internet service in India, and Jio, which is also backed by Google and Meta, has partnered with Nvidia to develop AI infrastructure. Reliance, however, aims for the 2025 Jio IPO to be India's biggest ever, overtaking Hyundai India's record $3.3 billion IPO this year, said the first source.
